Someone mentioned that wanted to learn sanskrit.

First of all let me tell you that Easy and Sanskrit can't go in the same sentence LOL, the complexity of this language is mindbending, much more than our "modern" languages

However, there is one advantage that sanskrit has... it is so perfect that it lacks ambiguities, there is a precise word for every state of consciousness that exists so once you start learning it's more straightforward than our modern languages which are full of exceptions ambiguities and other stuff.

Something interesting about this language is that it's not just an ordinary language, there is a complex spiritual phillosophy hidden in every sound of it, where vowels have the highest and most spiritual vibration and consonants have more mundane vibrations, this is one of the reasons why mantras are so powerul!

It is also interesting to see that most european languages have roots from sanskrit, spanish for example is full of rules and roots that come from this language.

That said I'm gonna leave some resources here for those interesting in learning the language, enjoy!!

http://www.sanskrit-sanscrito.com.ar/

awesome site containing everything related to sanskrit and it's phillosophy.

http://spokensanskrit.de/

a dictionary with emphasis on spoken sanskrit

if someone is interested in talking about this beautiful and spiritual language let's do it here

tava tatvata (yours truly)

yup it is hard to learn Sanskrit, even for ppl. like me who can speak many languages derived from sanskrit like hindi, gujrati, marathi etc. it's very hard to have a gud command on sanskrit.
the vastness of this language makes it even more difficult to learn.           the problem with valuing art is, till u dont understand it, it's worthless but wen u do understand it, it's priceless!!

Oh man how cool that you are able to speak all those languages

I consider myself a language freak LOL, i'm always trying to learn new languages and trace their roots and origins, since I discovered Sanskrit I've been fascinated by it, that's the reason I started this thread it'd be really awesome to talk about this beautiful language with people who share the fascination for it.

Sanskrit is like the latin of India huh? most Indian languages have an strong sanskrit base or at least influence, even dravidian languages.

But more fascinating even is that languages like spanish have a lot of sanskrit words and rules, I'm gonna give some examples.

One rule of spanish that comes from sanskrit is the use of the preffix "a" before a word to indicate a lack of, for example.

normal in spanish means normal just like in english, but anormal means exactly the opposite thing, just like in sanskrit vidya means knowledge and avidya means ignorance.

Naranja which means Orange in spanish comes from the original sanskrit word Narangah

We can also trace back the evolution from sanskrit, then lituan, latin and finally spanish of some words and sayings like:

Sanskrit: Devas adat dantas, Devas dasyati dhanas.
Lituan: Dievas dave dantis, Dievas duos duonos.
Latin: Deus dat dentis, Deus dat dona.
Spanish: Dios nos da dientes, Dios nos da dones.

which means Devas give us teeth, Devas give us gifts.

But even more fascinating than this, is the phillosophy hidden beneath the sanskrit language.

According to Triká or non-dual Shaivism, every letter of the Sanskrit alphabet is associated with a determined level of consciousness. Some levels have even been associated with more than one letter.

Yeah devnagiri is the script.

And btw, i don't know how hard it is to learn because i have never tried. But my dad was telling me people used to take Sanskrit in college because it was the easiest to score a 100 in Easy as a subject but as a dialect i don't know.

Sanskrit is the mantrik magic of the word,the univesral sound,gods are speaking sanskrit language,and just only one sanskrit word, may have alot of meanings,just in one sentense u may include everything.

my favourute mantra in sanskrit is..
HARE KRISHNA HARE KRISHNA KRISHNA KRISHNA HARE HARE
HARE RAMA HARE RAMA RAMA RAMA HARE HARE

this mantra works like a pattern,when u chant it passes through the mind and put things in order on ur mental state...just observe how the order of the words are set,HARE seperates and connects,if u make a visual hologram u will see they that energy it moves,and represents joy ,happines.. this is the most beneficial mantra,even the scientists chant it to feel good...
chant and be happy           ~~~~~~~namaskar~~~~~~~~~
After the End,a new Begining startS..

Krishna's maha mantra is used by a lot of different spiritual groups,some start it with Krishna someother with Rama.

When we speak sanskrit is important to know the meaning of the mantra we chant,to be more concsious and the effect be more beneficial,actually if u chant Hare Krishna without know the meaning, then u are not concsious,u say something that u dont know what it really means,and by this way u may get hypnotised and get a negative effect from the power of the mantra.

Hare means a lot of things,hare comes from the greek word "hara",and hara means joy,hare also comes from another greek word " here" and when we say here it is like we give our special greeting to someone,like saying "hi" but with much respect.

Hare also means Father,hare also have this ability to connect and seperate,hare also is this word that moves the obstacles away...

Now Krishna is the absolute the trancedental form of God that lived up on earth,the supreme personality of Godhead,and in sanskrit means the all attractive,and Rama is the God Ram with His wife Citta,and in sanskrit Rama means spiritual enjoyement.

When we chant in sanskrit we need to be concetrated on the meaning of it,just to keep our conciousnes awaek and not sleepy.

I chant this mantra every day for some years and my life had became happier and more ecstatic...

Krsihna das,Sivaram,and Baghavan das the golden voice !!!

          ~~~~~~~namaskar~~~~~~~~~
After the End,a new Begining startS..
Speaking to you guys from my personal experience with the language its easier if you know a language like hindi which basically came from sanskrit.
Its quiet mathematical in nature you can add words together. Like french you have to conjucate verbs in three persons.
Its fun. I would encourage anyone.
i could say that ancient greek where a very illustrative language too, they had a very rich vocabulary that could describe so many things with many ways, though its so difficult to learn like the Sanskrit you re describing..
haha same here man. my sanskrit teacher got tired of me and passed me the subject in the final year! just dint get the basic..
I somehow hated the language because it was so difficult to understand. .the only way out is to mug it up so you can remember it.
