I'm from mexico, and heading to those places this weekend, staying there till the 16th. Anyone know of an interesting party/event happening there? I've heard that Irina Mikhailova will be giving a gig at berkeley the 13, which I'm intending to go. Recommendations welcome. thank you guys. |

Ive been here over a year and have found very few likminded souls.

With San Francisco area being the psychedelic center of the world in the 60's/70's, I also expected to see a huge Psytrance scene here...
Unfortunately it seems as if many people 'have gotten over it' and are more into breaks nowadays.
Last year's lack of psy @ Symbiosis gathering was an eye-opener...
Let's build it up again!

A guy that goes to Cal wrote one of the most comprehensive overviews of psychedelic trance. It can be found here: http://www.ocf.berkeley.edu/~easwaran/papers/psytrance.html
Anyways, I have no clue about Berkeley, but there are definitely parties in San Francisco. I'm going to be blunt: I doubt that people will post or message information about underground parties online to a complete stranger.
However, there's a psytrance club night in San Francisco called Synchronize. I'm pretty sure they're on tribe. I would recommend going to that (I think it's on Wednesdays) and meeting some people in person.
Honestly, psytrance is bigger in LA. There are parties almost every weekend there. Although, you should expect a few hours of driving if the party is out in the desert.
Anyways, I hope you find some good doofs and have a killer time. Take care  |
