it all depends on the bitrate, encoding software, and what role that sample will be playing in your track.
i use the occassional mp3 samples in my music, but usually augment that with other sounds (sweeps, fx, etc)

www.virtualdub.org
load it in virtual dub, do a video and audio direct stream copy and then load it in soundforge.

another thing u can do is check your sound card recording mixer . there u can choose the option "what u hear" or sothing like that ,in this mode u can record anything you hear in the sound forge no matter what it is !
good luck & if u need more info just ask...

Yo Tomer
Is this "what you hear" thing the same quality as any other recording?
I remember a few years ago it wasn't possible to do that, only with "Total Recorder".

or! if you have plenty of space use cool edit pro 2
and simply extract the audio to your harddisk
itīs in the extract audio sometthing in the file menu. this is something for the lazy ones, but itīs sometimes nice just to get away and let the computer work by itself.mind you this canīt extract specific bitsīnīpieces but the whole bonanza only you still have to edit out the goodies manually though |

I use the recorder that came with my Creative software.
Set it to record anything happening (audio wise) on your PC.
Pretty simple....pretty slick!
U basically just play the movie till u get to the sample u want ...and hit record on the Creative Recorder. |

What creative software is that,Sarasin? We came across a programme on the Net a while back that boasted "recording everything you hear out of your speakers".But we can't track it down again! Also, what kind of copywrite laws stand in your way? |
