I made some great bass patches with esm, sampled it and load it in halion, works great but notices sound is low., again now i sampled es1 and noticed the bounced waves are low, no fat waves here.... cheching the lgic session i didnt lowered any volume actually i raised a little bit on the synths, not much cause i could hear anoying distortion.
The issue here is how can i get a good bounced wave, or should i record instead of bounce? |

you can always normalize the sample or you can bounce it close to 0 DB.
if your problem is rms/headroom issue so maybe your eq is not good enough or you need to compress the samples more.

There's something funky going on. I think you should try recording live so you get what you hear.
  When rain dries, clouds form.
When clouds moisten, rain forms. |

I dont know Halion but most samplers have the output turned down (often -6db) plus it proberly applies velocity control over the volume so the overall volume might seem low at first. Just turn up halions output an set the velocity curve and min/max to your liking. |

Either normalize the sample or rerecord. I run the "FREE" RTAS/VST/AU plugin: Inspector
http://www.rogernicholsdigital.com/inspector.htm
in my host/audio editor while recording. Gives a decent visual feedback of where your signal is reaching. Shoot for anywhere between -3db and -6db for a nice hot signal. After you have tried this throw a compressor in the chain and start squashing down to get a louder, punchier sound. Experiment and record everything you are doing. Listen to the results to find out which method works best.
Recording everything live is also a really good option. |

low volume isnt bad actually, if you lower all other instruments volume instead of raizing bass volume you ll get quiter mix hovewer its not bad at all. the tracks volume can be raized when mastering
anyways low volumes are okay in digital world

Depends on how low were talking. If the sound is recorded at reasonable level say peak at -2dBfs and the sounds is played black really low by the sampler you loose information when rendered to wav. Turing up the volume at masterring won't restore anything. |

T thing is that im just sampling the bass notes without any eq nor compression, without moving any level control, when bounced i saw the waves were really thin waveforms so....i tried raising the instrument level but starts to distort, if someone is interested i can upload the logic 5.5 session and a copy of a bounced file.

let's make something clear here
u get weak waves when u export out of logic or when u load them in sampler?
is your windows/sound card volume is set to maximum? if not try to set it to max and see if it helps.
yea u can upload the session ill check it out and if the problem is in logic's settings i'll send u a fixed version |

This is a pretty simple procedure.
Brain Hacked, all you have to do is to look at the peak meter in logic and see how loud is the sound you are about to record/bounce? If its to low just raise the output volume in ES1. Try to make it peak as close to 0dB but no red light ok?
