4/4 kick and offbeat OH is totally overdone IMO but it's kinda magic rhythm. it works almost everytime. i assume that the rhythms and sounds the shamans use(d) were similar in any of their sessions (btw: i don't mean similar to our kick/ bass thing necessarily), so maybe it's ok to have basic (holy) recipies that are used again and again, with variations tho. it may sound ridiculous to some people but i see the kick/ oh groove as somehow holy. very often it made me crazy on the dancefloor, for many years now...

the frequency/ envelope thing Kitnam mentioned is interesting tho, i'll keep it in mind.

if you don't like some things or sounds it would be better not to include them in your music. but i also know the little man in the head that whispers: everybody does it like this, it's a rule... come on... harr harr...

Well Dude,

the repetitive alternate high and low frquency bursts(I mean envelope with high attack), like in the case of Kick/OH, has certain psychoacustic effect on human ears, due to its high contrast in frequency and amplitude in that matter. There are receptors in the Snale Organ in ear which are sensitive to frequencies, while the others to amplitude of air waves. By aggitating those receptor all at once with the above combination, a depolarisation is being produced, which leads to a feedback in abdominal and GENITAL regions, which we perceive as orgasmic joy.
Psychoactive drugs like LSD etc, cause lower threshold for depolarisation of these receptors, which explains the amplification of the sensation.

So its all about finding that special frequency

Ofcourse you have those Alpha/Beta waves whatever, but it would be kinda weird at party everybody using headphones

mh...then you accelarate the frequency slowly, pricisely synched with light flashes, until everybody get sezures, shaking on the floor with white foam coming out of their mouths....

Well, I like to use an open hat between the kicks, i think it adds a low of flow to the music.. in contrast, i think that (sometimes) the snare takes away that flow, especially when it is too loud, but sincerously it is a must use in trance music and if I don't use it, people say it sounds like techno... maybe because i often use 147 bpm.
As it concerns about samples, i'm a little bit tired of those "get ready for a psychedelic journey trought your mind" samples, especially in full on when there's almost no "story" in it.

never doing what i hate , never use samples i dont like and i dont think that 'hate' can be connected to music . its sound realy bad thinking that way , this topic is realy strange & wierd , how ppls know what they hate/like if they dont try it or work with . and if you work on music you will see when you are geting deep inside that ther is no hate there .... only love

Olimpiasis - music can be full of hate and full of love...
maybe its the `"love for hate" or "love for love", or "hate for love" or "hate for hate" is that the same as "love for love"? hmm haha

but i dont think those that makes music with hate in it use sounds they hate.. but they express their hate through violent strokes and maybe more disharmony than usual.
But i have heard tracks with lots of hate in the lyrics that really sounds good from a musical point of view...
its really paradoxical cause
if right was to be right then music full of hate would have sounds that the artists hate, which somebody probably would love... haha

and if i listen to black metal(i mean the heavy mean stuff), when the singer just screams like a madman and in my ears it sounds awfull, and the drums are played with full velocity, like 120dBspl and screaming distorting guitars that just cuts through your ears..
but there are people that love it.. hmm who am i to judge anyway... im sure we can find love in the most dark places...

im not digging deeper into this.. hehe

from a dualistic viewpoint there exists both love and hate, i dont know if they are in balance, we will probably notice that....

but what i find interesting is that Anitmateria is what we have to look forward to if we should believe in dualism.. it will soon eat us! moohahaha...

last note
"Samples you hate, but love to use".. now here we are speaking about a big paradox..
