Sorry if this posts offends anyone but I must ask, out of curiosity, and interest if anyone has come across any tracks that contain samples of the Qur'an. You know the sound that you hear coming from the Mosque, with words such as 'Allah', 'Akbar' etc...

I don't know but I think it would actually sound pretty good in a track. I like the sound of it in itself, and have really no opinion of its religious content, or connotation one way or the other.

Why on earth did they called a song like that, when now they are showing David's Cross everywhere (photos, booklets...)?

Thanks for posting Carbuncle.
I was hoping for something more organic, as in sounding like the original chant with the deep resonating voice. This just sounds cheesy, and I'm merely referring to the sample. The song is something I'd prefer not to put judgment on.

@spazmazter So you mean the call to prayer, or the prayer itself. I'm surprised a sample hasn't been used in a track, but I would guess it's to avoid offending or maybe even scaring some people.

Note that Islam says the prayer is not to be considered 'music', though technically it is, imo. It follows some musical mode and scale, which I've done some research on but haven't concluded anything yet. Anyone else know?

^^ and that's why you can't find any call to prayer samples in psytrance

Better to maybe find some Arabic music using the same mode and scale.

For a shameless bit of self promotion, it's ambient and has Muezzin sample in it alright...

I think Cosma has a track with arabic prayer on his first LP. Not sure though if it it is something religious.
I see nothing bad in using samples like this no matter what religious direction as long as the creation was made by heart. In my unfinished snippets I got plenty of tracks with arabic samples also Allahu Akbar or bismillah on mulitband delay and plenty of Shiva Om stuff as well also in another musics I got old aramaic christian stuff 2. As long as it is nothing racial no point to have some sortof doubts imo.           https://soundcloud.com/shivagarden

Yes, the exact prayer itself, because it does sound pretty nice on it's own.

No, it's just a sample from a religious prayer, nothing to do with religion. Yes, we all dubstep...

As to taking offense, do you think that hard line, fundamentalist Hindus don't take offense to Hindu mantras and chants being used in music where foreigners are dancing around naked to it? They will go mad if they see it.

Anyone can take offense towards anything so lets not go in that direction...
