hi
iam intrested in staring to mix in some good sample and loops into my ambient sets to make them more personal and intresting ...maybe something like vocal samples or maybe just some wierd sounds etc anthing that oculd be mixed within a set ...can someone help me or atleast get me started ...

i dunno much bout mixin n stuff...but...if you're intrested in vocal samples from movies u can download a few from this site

you could also put a few animal samples in ure track...to get an idea, try gettin hold of 'nonesuch explorer_sounds of the jungle, plain n bush' orsomtin like tucker martine_broken hearted dragonflies...n u could also buy a lot of cds online on sounds of nature n stuff!

YES! Just today, in the mailbox... I got an unexpected gift from a friend: A Yahama sampler & FX unit!
I am looking for some transition sounds for dificult mixes (when the beat fades out, etc.) and intresitng loops also... to make mixes more creative....
any more links or resources would be appreciated! |

I just downloaded Audio Hijacker for my mac...basically, if something is coming out of your computer, you can record it. I've been making samples from movie dvds, and am going to start in on TV shows soon...the demo is pretty much full but stops working after 10 minutes, which is fine for my purposes but I might go ahead and get the full program cuz I like it...here's the link, hope someone with a mac finds it as fun as me!

What I want to know is how to take my samples and tweak em all all twisted/fractured/fragmented/psyed out-you know what I mean? Right now I just use them as I find them, but I'd like to modify them so they're kinda hard to understand and such, like you often hear in psytrance tracks-what programs do people do that with?
for the record, I think nature samples are a bit overused, cuz when you're inside they're out of place and outside hopefully there's real nature sounds! Of course, many of the best producers and DJ's seem to disagree with me.
Brett-what's the Yahama sampler and FX unit do?

applying effects on samples can make them sound soooo sweet ...what iam trying to do out here is tap into albetons live 3 potential for making a sets ....using live 3 u can do wonders to ur samples and loops (on the fly) ....tons of fx and plugins available for live 3 ...
