I dont know about sounding better directly, but its really nice to tweak with! I feel it gives me more control over things.
I love battery
too bad loading so many instances of it is giving me CPU problems hehe

Sorry, my english is so bad!
I mean the samples sound better in Cubase than play it with Battery. |

I don't know in terms of fidelity but a lot of people do find it easier to tweak using their sequencer then everything that goes with it rather than just a mere tool that is part of their sequencer.
Does that make sense? I think it does sort of.
I often use battery to envelope samples and then load them as straight audio into sonar.
Whatever's necassarry.

hmm I'm also with fuzzikitten on this...did you guys try to turn really everything of in the sampler, make the sound at the same volume (caution, some samplers got initially something different than 0db), and compared then?
maybe its better to process the sounds within the sequencer, but I'm sure the original raw sound cant be better just cause its played directly from the sequencer and not a sampler

i doubt it s sound different but maybe try with battery 3 they updated the audio engine if i m right, you can try to bounce a sample using the audio track and battery to a/b them or reverse the phase of one to see if they cancel each other when playing at the same time. |

I agree its possible that some samplers got a bad sound engine...but some also dont! I dont like the sound of battery for example...dont know why, but it isnt really transparent in my opinion
I'm using linplug rm-iv now for some time and quite like it, you just need to turn that effects thing off for each sample (with spread and such) cause its always on when you open the plug, and the volume is set to -3db of each pad...if you fix that its working great imo

battery is realy good sampler....like most NI products
imho Guru is better ....you can send buit in fx to each pad
and the most important thing is that guru need less cpu than battery
