Hey man whoole track looks like little bit overloaded , remove anything from master , try to keep your master under -6db , try to work without comression and limiting-it will give to your mix breathe of air , kick+bass is general , don't forget about their friends !-) - do not give lot of priority in limiting of hihats and leads try to sidechain them ! Keep the bass under the kick . I feel to much low freq in your mix !           www.soundcloud.com/albertos_music

i dont have a studio either, and its hard, but one trick that i find kind of helps me mix (as far as the mids and highs) is to turn down each sound in turn while listening to the track then turn it back up until its just at the volume i want.

for some reason it seems that some sounds can be like 5db too loud and it doesn't stand out to my ear for some reason in the headphones. with this method i can usually find those sounds and resolve some issues.

Another thing i am sure you have heard is to listen on other systems. this helps a ton. my friends who arent into electronic but have good speakers are really really sick of me coming over and listening to tracks over and over on their stuff but i mix their music too so they cant bitch too much           --

Nice lead in the intro of the track.
In my opinion, to fully valorize that, you should make a filtering of that lead, sweeping from low frequencies to highs, maybe together with a white-noisy sound; then suddently have that drum roll you used and start.

The bass is ok I guess, it simply has too much mids for me.

About the pluck that starts at 1:13/1:14; you should apply better equalization to it, because it messes a lot with the overall sound, hiding a lot of other instrument frequencies. I also reccomend to add some more of them at that point of the song, or the result would be quite predictable.

I like very much the filtering/small break at about 1:50, but I think that it feels wrong if put there, at this point of the song...

About the synths that begin at 1:53... They sound very promising, but I think you should mix them better with the rest of the instruments, and also select a more groovy note-pattern.

In conclusion, you should really learn to mix better and to better eq/compress your single instruments. By the way this track have potential, some nice sounds and that lead is very pleasant.
