Sample instrument for a certain sample length ?

Hi i wonder if anyone who knows of any sample program where you can decide how many second the instruments should be sampled.
This feauture is really good and you can find it in a lot of hardware samples, but i haven´t found it in any software program yet.
Anyone who knows of any program which can do this ? |

What do you mean "the instruments should be sampled"? recorded?

What are "hardware samples"?
...could you try explain a bit more?
My best guess would be that you mean sample lenght, but that makes not much sense as most samplers should let you decide about the lenght played....or you just record it in the lenght you want.
