Try to make your own samples
The sample CDs can be bought by anyone and then your music will start sounding like others

vengeance 1, 2, 3, sonic couture, etc.
I assume that you are not able to produce your own acoustic stuff, like me, so don't forget dynamics and synthesize after you got samples. |

Some sample packs can be very valuable for you - it doesn't mean you will sound like others, it's a way you use the sample.
High quality samples are not so easy to make on your own.

thomas penton all the way
anyway try around doin your own stuff, its not that hard to learn.
i tend to use only hatz and cowbell stuff (which is pretty easy to make your own, i know. anyway im pretty lazy often, at least if i wanna go on in the track and dont have time to create own one) from thomas penton essentials.
try around the days you just not feel to work on a track and go ahead to learn how to synthesize percussions yourself. easy things can be done just with some noise and env. settings, slightly fm or whatever, its not that hard.
have a look for this soundonsound page, everythings pretty easy to understand i guess. my personal recommendation always is the "hands on synthsound" dvd, and pls dont ask, if u dont know about these stuff, its worth the money 100%. everything really easy and from beginning. all in small chapters, so u can easily start according to your actual knowledge and will learn everything without the need to save a page or read on screens, tft´s or whatever....i prefered this way
