I say get a life ! Too bad that people got arrested and even if the police is bad in Greece there's no excuse for not knowing that drugs are illegal (like it or not). I am sure the people that got 10 years in prison had a quite big amount of dope on them for sale purpose !!!!
It's amazing how people in this scene can't think for themselves! Where's the brains gone? Too much chemicals maybe?
People can only blaim themselves for going to a foreign country with dope in their pockets.... No matter how bad the police are they still just do their job..... !!!! |

sure drugs are illegal nearly everywhere
and i would not even think about taking drugs to a foreign country.too bad some people did
but on the other hand i think that there is also a lot of arbiteryness .
the greek police also broke several european laws
which cant be excused and has to be told
less drugs-more spirit

When i first heard about the police being on site i wouldn't have agreed more with you EP. I did however feel very differently when on the last day i watched them start searching people at the gate at work thier way through tent by tent arresting everybody they came across who possessed any amounts....it would have been enough to have a spliff in your hand. A guy asleep in the tents next to where me and my friends were was taken as stuff was in there with him, he fortunately left a message with a random person as he was taken away who stuck around for a good couple of hours or none of his mates would have known where he was....Basically, they knew there were loads of drugs, they brought in extra vehicles from athens to transport the volumns of people they would later take from the site, it was a well organisd raid by them and was executed in an intimidating manner.
Don't want to lower the tone on what was for me and many others judging by the vibes on the dancefloors and else where an excellent party in a great location. The day time music was some of the best i've experienced anywhere thanks to the likes of emok, atmos and (how did you do waht you did to me!?!?!?) Son kite.
The raids seemed however to be sending out a clear message of unwelcome-ness to a bunch of people where far from any towns, contained, and living 'peacefully' (er, how big was the main rig!!). There was no harm being done, they knew there were going to be drugs there before the party started.
Apparently this has something to do with forthcoming mayoral elections, not sure if anyone can confirm or deny this...
Big thankyou to the organisers for their energy to what was a memorable event, hope the stress of the last day has died down

I feel very sorry for the ones now in jail I feel when people organize psytrance festivals, they have to let it be safe for tripping people, if not a lot of fear and paranoia will ocour
And when they arrest people that just have small quantities it becomes very stupid if you ask me ...
I know for sure that a LOT of people wont come back to samothraki, or to greece (i know for sure i wont!!)

kriz it will be better if I come to your country and smoke acid in public and nobody arrest me? Do it if you want in your home or whatever, but respect also the others people freedom! Iam with the police here.

ok why be real ??it is only an idea i want to discuss .its not even my idea its from that site.
but i think that there are many people now with serious problems in jail who have to pay money for layers,punishment,etc.
why not show some solidarity?

the police did act in a stupid way.. and so did the people who did drugs so openly @ the festival.. it's against the law pretty much every where but the netherlands.. what did you expect?

i don't understand why mark and elisium project are telling me to get a life if i want to understand this stupidity?
last year i was in samothraki, and the organising sucked! but at least people could have fun how they saw fit! i'm not saying that the dealers shouldn't get arrested, but i don't think someone holding a spliff at a festival should be arrested for it. and cyberdelia, nobody talked about smoking in the street in your country, we're talking about one of the largest festivals around, and yeah, some people are SUPPOSED to take drugs there, it's "normal", you don't se police in other festivals going from tent to tent, person to person, feeling their balls to check for drugs, it's absurd.
i'm guessing the reson is really the mayoral elections, and the mayor wanting to show he's doing something against drugs, too bad he's also doing a great deal against tourism for them.
and the accounts of people are really disturbing, lke the guy who's girlfriend was stripsearched while a guy was standing there watching! that's absolutely amazing! i can't believe the amount of harassment some people had to go through. i know i won't be going there any more.

I did not mean that you should "get a life" freakazoid... I was refering to the victims forum.... I don't really understand the whole "victim" label they put on themselves.... In my book thye act like spoiled kids.
If you do drugs openly or even smoke weed openly you know the risk and have to be willing to take the risk of getting arrested... It's as simple as that.... No one are that stupid that they don't know the risk involved in doing drugs ! |
