hey my friend absolutzero...  im not asking cause im a nasty boy.and for sure there is no problem.
but i just wanteded to know how r the things around there. if there is any tv channel, someone has to info us so we can put our good clothes on

there are cops on harbor of samothraki,some undrcover cops with sequrity tshirts inside the camp,some copdogs,and also cops in harbor of alexandroupoli.today the radio station thessaloniki 94.5 said that police arrest 7 ppl
some greek and some other nationality.(y can check this if you hear the news).
beware.

Hope to see some cops @ the dancefloor, kicking asses with GMS's sounds...Kilaaaaaaaargh! After all, what are they going to do with all that stuff they've gathered right ? They can't sell them, coz they might arrest each other, and that would be confusing...Seriously now, ahem..., I was going for it, but being on holidays with cops is not my thing you know, so, have a great time, and say hi to that K9 !

I spoke with a friend of mine that was in Samothraki and told me that a few days ago a group of Aek fans from Athens made a big mess in the party area by yelling, threatening other people and fighting with a few others...The situation got out of control so that the people of Samothraki had to show them the exit??!!
Can anyone confirm this one?
If true, we are talking about one more big kseftila of the so-called "greek psychedelic scene" (?) |

My friend I was there at SG05 event but nothing like that I've heard, may be because I wasnt all the time in the camping!I was back yesterday night!

Well !! Just a few impressions at a glance from the fest that I experience ( not so much is written below) Like a report; 26-29/08/2005 :
{ Thank you " Dear Reader " beforehand of reading this writing; if there are any opinions just "pm" me - This is just a personal point of view of the Samothraki Gathering 05 }
1.Port of Alexandroupoli
Not so much trouble with the check ups of the Authorities ( Not at all, I must say!) just the tickets and thats all.Everybody doing their job very politely.
2.Trip on Board of the Ship
Very good weather with not so many seawaves and some last of the attendants/visitors of the fest SG05!
3.Port of Samothraki
Ok! A little bit panic but ,ok! Some ppl of the island stop the peolpe for asking if they want rooms etc. ( the usual things in vacation-islands-ports in summer mostly)
4.Road to Municilpality Camping
Road to Municilpality Camping 15 km. from Kamariotisa Port nice and the energy in the air you could felt from the big trees along side the road nearby and reaching "Therma" and camping.
5.Samothraki Gathering 26-27-28/08/2005/U]
5.1.[u]En-trance :-P
Well, Finally at our aim of the day! We are outside of the Municilpality Camping where the SG05 was held and many cars n bikes all around the area. Cars coming, taxis, bikes and buses!
The newcomers of the fest waiting in the queue inside them "me", also. There were two linequeues at the entrance : a)One direct to the entrace for those which have obtained a pre-ticket and b) the other one for those who would buy at the time of their arrival.
The thing that I didnt like was that there was a vid-cam "scanning"/record us at the door , I felt uncofortable but I thought "just leave it" think that nobody watching you as all the time like inwithout the digital rec-vices. I stayed at the sigh of the door : " The event is being recorded for production of a DVD"- I will buy it .
5.2.The meantime of the SG05
5.2.1.Reggae Stage
Just cool Rythms!- This is not my taste but it was nice before you go to the next stage..
The chaishop there had nice Crepes.
5.2.2.Electronic Sounds Stage
..and here we are at the most crowded stage place nearby after Reggae stage!
Good vibes, Super Duper Visuals and nice build up/structure of the stage.nice dj sets and live acts and nice different ppl with KeWL gadgets some cool hats mushroomkinds, elfkinds, waterguns etc.!Last day I notice a naked guy was dancing very groovy . The other thing that I remember the last day the music stopped at 21:00 something  "what a pity" . Everybody would like some more!!more! Some screaming our money back!ha! After one hour almost the staff starting to unbuilded the stage.
5.2.3.Chill-Out Stage
I like it very much and the chaishop there had very good deco!Also here from the night they starting to unbuild the stage
5.3.Shops, Food, WC, Kinder-garden
5.3.1.Shops
There was a shop from Thessaloniki there that is very organised generally and had a nice stand at the event ( nice clothes,prices hhm ok it depend the brand-it has some offers also, nice construction of the stand) which sold SG05 T-Shirts in different colors'n'sizes ( Black, Red, Green, Blue in M, L, XL ).
There were some small stands with handmade rings, necklaces, accessories etc. ( near reggae stage and near WC of Electonic Sounds some cool guys from Argentina ).
5.3.2.Food
Ok I must say the truth that the Food service of the organisation generaly was better organised from the last time I've been there. The so-called " marks/chips" the currency for the event was somekind of paper-tickets ( NOT plastic coins as it was in my mind ). They dont have some of the meals of the printed menu ( specialy for the veggies ) just a few .
The Non-Organization food-corners was with real money coins'n'banknotes ( Only the two chaishops I noticed inside the event and one place outside the event in from of the entrance selling corns etc. as far as I remember) .
5.3.3.WC ( and rubbish )
Its a fact after all that the toilets were clean as that place could be ( it has to be a little more ) and general with the ticket that we had to pay at the entrance to have a garbage bag for collecting the trashes all around then we had our money back if returning that bag full. In that way the place were clean and Ive heard some old women at Kamariotisa telling " blablblba...bla.. at least they dont left trashes behind when they will go away " , haha!cool eeh?!
5.3.4.Play-Ground
Thats was a typical ( a sample ) of playground for children but not so many things.
5.4.Things I forgot
The security was nice, no big police appeareance I noticed ( Only outside of the event OR I wasnt so much good watching around, may be?!). I dont Remember anything else for the moment.I dont mention so many things for the artists because so many and everyone has a different point of view of taste and feeling;except those I write here that were obvious with your eye.
6.Parallel the event all around Samothraki
PRICES going Very Up-High as all the things generally Greece nowadays but I check the " baths" at Therma place 2001 Price : 1.44 -2005->5.00 Euros for a private tub. And the whole thing I believe has been commercialized a lot! not only baths but alltogether year by year at the Place of Samothraki.
At "chora" / Samothraki a lot of Good things to see and eat mostly : 1) Good breakfast some nice BiG Expensive omelets, nice fresh coctails juices mixed with honey, the traditionaly bakery some minutes before the " old castle " of the place , a musuem to see some traditionaly items, some nice cafeterias with nice scenery mostly for older ppl and one for more younger ones or who feel young ( from the music style I catecorise that cafeteria ).
Kamariotisa its like every place you seeing aroung nearby the port. There is also a internet cafe there!
Some other Places Like " Prophet Elias " that is famous for its tavernas with nice goat dishes , nothing special only the scenery from the taverna there its nice and from in front of the church .
7.Back Home - Samothraki Port
Its time going back home and at the Port again the same situation many cars and lots of ppl of the fest leaving the island.
8.On Board the ship to Alexandroupoli
A lot of wind that Day and "pretty good" seawaves around us. Aproaching the Port of Alexandroupoli a lot of birds were playing together with us and a lot of ppl feed them from their hands.
9.At the Alexandroupoli Port
Finally, at the port ready to land the ship a scream hearing very LOUD " BAAACK" I dont know somehow the ship wasnt land good and a car was ready to jump in the sea. After all everything going fine and waiting till next summer events ( for me my summer finish here), and in the meantime of winter period we wait to see for the other events.
Dear Reader, I hope to not weariness you and from the other hand to give you a little impression of whats happened there at SG05 in generall lines.

my favorite lives were: psychotic micro, talamasca, ticon, haldolium, tube.
i must say that i was so dissapointed with the GMS live. but i quess this is in the eye of the beholder as i noticed that people generally loved it...

So we have a Bluster sound system and as Astrix says was the strongest sound system from all the sdf fests....
I dont want to speak about the organisation because we were a part of it,
But i can speak about the ppl that was great...smiles everywhere.....looks that realy join the music that all the artists played.
The dance floor was full at all the time specialy at Ticon live,Haldolium live,Emok,Vibrasphere live,Antix,Gms live,Astrix live,Sub6 live,Talamasca live and set,Electric Universe live.
I have a realy good time there with all my friends and i want to thank them for this(Grin,Mahab,Lunatic,Lis,Soto,Cat and Frank)
See you at the next SG 2006

Very good festival with very nice vibes,if we forgot the plastic spageti and the humburger from cork the party was realy good.
Very good sound system and very good music except the first day where chemical crew fucked everything
I like very much the 3 different dj sets from Absolut Zero,he prove that can respond to all the conditions
keep the good work guys

Can someone please tell me why Symphonix's and Silent Sphere's lives cancelled??
And i 'd like to make some complaints about the catering.Sideri's catering was awful.The food was cold and with flies.The next bad thing was the schedule..All groovy projects(everything i want to hear)were starting to play when the sun was up.That's why now i can't touch my back..
In conclusion,i got crazy with the magic island(but no with the local people)i liked the festival and i would like to come next year if there are more and better projects.. |
