Why is the Atomic album called The Safi Connection?
Being unoriginal with tracks, so let's be even unoriginal with names?

So here's my challenge for you... how many albums have come from the Safi Connection? By this I mean Safi, Neo-Logic, Echotek etc... there are many, it seems - and all from the same two or three guys, yes? Aside from albums it would be interesting to know how many EP's/singles, and perhaps impossible (but worth a shot) to name every compilation appearance...
The other part of the question is how far back does this go? What year did they start? They seem to be incredibly prolific - perhaps more than any other in the history of psytrance? What do you say? |

Just search in discogs.com or psychedelic mind expander sites. A few clicks and u will get answers.
Even here, on Isratrance.com are articles about Safi Connection and Echotek.

I've searched around in psyshop, and came to the following:
Albums: I count two.
Prince Of Paranoia (Spectrum - 2002)
Authentic (Arcadia - 2003)
Compilations:
They have appeared on 22 compilations according to psyshop, and that is just counting the Safi Connection line-up. If you take Echotek, Neo Logic, Central Nerve, Side Effect and Swith into account, you will come to a lot more.
They have been very productive, and still write some pretty groovy tracks sometimes. At least, in my opinion...
Oh yeah, as far as I can find their earliest release was in 2002. "Subconscious unravels at the point of death, and all time it has known erupts into a moment. As death extinguishes us, so we become it."

No matter how much stuff they have released.
They don't come close to amounts of Simon Posford/GMS Family/Infected Mushroom/Astral Projection or even Electric Universe and Space Tribe.
For example here's a partial list of Simon Posford's albums:
The Infinity Project X 2
Shpongle X 2 (Not counting the Remixes)
Hallucinogen X 2 (Not counting "In Dub")
Younger Brother
Dub Trees
Celtic Cross
And soon Eat Static VS Hallucinogen.
On any scale, for 10 years career that's a lot, and
the quality is mostly very high.

I think Safi Connection and their side-projects have delivered quite a few good tracks. As for Simon Posford, I agree he's very good, but that Younger Brother album was just awful. So not all Simon does is good. And as always, it comes down to a matter of taste. I for one like both Simon Posford's tracks (but not all) AND Safi Connection tracks (also not all). For me, it's just music. And if music is done great, I don't care if its done by Simon or Safi or whoever else for that matter, as long as it sounds great!! And remember: All good artists have some bad songs once in a while... It's just how life is!!

Pavel comparing Simon Posford to the Safi Connection gang is at least disrespectful for Simon.
