Q : Tell me about you and your project.
A: Safi Connection is Mishel Bitton (28) Mishel first started to make music back in ’97, where he released an album under the project “Sonichaos”. The Sonichaos album presented a very melodic approach that fitted the times back than. This album was released through Planet Music, a sub-label of B.N.E, a major player in the international Trance scene.
Few months after the release of “Sonichaos” Mishel teamed with Avi peled, together they came up with the "Todra” project, which had a much more matured musical approach. This project was instantly signed for the Krembo Records label and was released in ’98 with great responds worldwide.
From that moment on Mishel started spinning music around the world and from exploring the international markets and trends Mishel felt that he must bring his ideas into life but with a whole new perspective and so he changed his musical direction and progressed to what everyone knows today as “Safi Connection”.
Mishel started to work on the “Safi Connection” project in 2001, along with Tamir Ozana(aka – Atomic Pulse), after polishing their first few tracks they signed a deal for an album to DJ Dede’s own label “Spectrum Music” and in early 2002 the debut “Safi Connection” album, “Prince of Paranoia” came to life.
This album was distributed world wide through MDMA(rip) and it has created a mega buzz for “Safi Connection’s music and shows, reviews and interviews came out in all the respected media, magazines, internet, dj’s charts and more.
2002 was a busy year for Mishel, it is the breakthrough year for him actually, since the release of the “Safi Connection” debut album Mishel and Tamir decided to go each on his own way, and so Mishel kept working on the “Safi Connection” project while Tamir continued his career as Atomic Pulse.

More collaborations as Safi, with Space Tribe, Melicia, Sally Doolaly, Psykovsky, X-wave.
At the moment Safi is working on a psy guitar project that would be as a live act
Of 2 people, Liquid on Safi (Safi & live electro guitar player).
Also known as B-Tone, a more progressive project. An album was released on synergetic records on June 2004, called “B-Tone – Mantra acts”.
All of Mishel’s projects (Safi Connection, Neo Logic, B-Tone , Liquid on Safi , Central Nerve) are known for having a top quality production with stunning fresh ideas, it’s the new style, its progressive full on trance, not the usual Israeli full on, twisted, funky and most important of all – it rocks the dance floors everywhere around the world.
This past 2 years , Mishel was booked to act as “Safi Connection” in Japan , Taiwan , Hong Kong ,France , UK, Greece, Portugal, Holland, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Italy, Israel , Macedonia, India, Brasil , Mexico , Argentina , Chile and the responds to each show were amazing …

Q : When you are playing your music, what is the message that you try to transmit
A : I try to give my love & passion for the music that I feel . Its very weird to see me relax in my live act , its like I play football , 90 minutes , no stop .
Q : And about Spliff Music, your label. As they are to run the things with the label?
A : Spliff music was established in may 2004 . it’s base is middle east (Israel) , hot temperament land or as it called “holy land” & so represents a variant of high quality
Psy – trance music from artists all around the globe , under a concept of sharing &
Harmonizing .
Founder & label manager , is Mishel Bitton a.k.a Safi-connection (www.safi-connection.com) . after a life time of journey & questing Mishel understood that a new fresh sounds must be heard around the scale of the new ion flower people or so called Goa freaks .
Spliff music artistic crew will try always to manufacture projects , to its listening audiences
That Inspired from multi musical logics , like : groovy dancefloor, rock , melodic , classical , experimental perceptions , natural & spiritual landscapes & some more .
As we are heading to Tech planet , new compositors/musicians arise on the surface .

Mishel B., holding an electric engineer diploma , but truly believes that a high tech creation , Is being developed . its started thousands of years ago by spiritual gatherings & voodoo crafts works , shamanic ceremonies & specially high communication levels , & it continue today by all around the globe , musicians & labels .
Spliff music comes from basic logic of : “share your spliff & life will be lighter ” .
With an optimistic point of view , psy trance music can release some demons inside

Q : Speak me about your released albums and about your comming album.
A : my next album ::: “Safi Connection – Shout Aluma” is dedicated to my daughter Aluma & my wife . & I think its my best album till now . it will be in shops around march , also video clips for it will follow on Spliff Music web site .
Q : Do you have any colaboration with a Portuguese project? Or do you know the job of some portuguese artists?

Q : What is your opinion about the mp3 sound trade on the internet?
A: the quality on the internet is very low , if you respect music & sound you would feel like listen to a high quality recording .
Q : What do you think about the trance movement in the world?
A : its getting bigger & bigger , this year I will play @ Chille , Argentina , Equador , Costa Rica , Taiwan , Hong Kong , & China .
And in Portugal?
Portuguese people are connected to trance in blood , they are happy & energetic , exactly like this music .
Q : What is the software and the hardware that you use in the music production?
A : Cubase SX 3.0 , Eventide Eclipse , Tc Electronics finalizer , Dynaudio BM6a ,
Virus C , Roland sh 32 , nord lead 3 , korg ms2000 b , vsti & more .
Q : A message for who is to start one project in the trance music.
A : if you love it enough & you stay open to the unknow it will come .

I would seriously advise these artists about this thread, BEFORE sending trax or expecting a release.
I don't know them personally, but if you're a friend of them, make sure they take a look at it.

im a member of unreal project ... tanks for advising us ..we love trance music and we give our best to contribute to the growth of it. We are not signing any contract whit spliff because many artists and people arround the globe have bad experiences whit this label including some friends .. still i whis the best of luck to michele and to all the artists involved and may the true commitment of work provide for them all.. cheers |
