So did u have any benefit from SAE?
Did u get the job as audio engineer?
How long it took you to repay 8000 Euros worth course with a new job?
Im thinking about it but it looks like too much sacrifise..           http://www.myspace.com/djacidkills

aah yes i did get a job as an engineer but not cause of sae for sure

i think its over rated n too expensive .. specially here in india ... dunno how well the course structure is,faculty, equipment etc is back there

i thought it wasnt really uselfull but yes it did set a base for me

i think untill you dont get into the industry n handson experience n work all these courses are no use
you could always join a studio as a trainee learn the basics n soon get paid for learning too

I'm with bad sector on this one, tough sae gives you a nice base of knowledge, even on things which you wouldnt learn by yourself if you'd just learn from handson experience.           https://soundcloud.com/hazak

To think that I have done more than double the amount of course material in half the time @ my school and managed quite well on top of that...
I mean I busted my ass like hell for 1 year.

How are SAE in terms of music theory?
Any value?

I went to SAE in London.

Biggest waste of time ever. Learned more in forums in a month than a year there.

Wasn't taxing at all.

Zero music theory on my course, which was one of the biggest disappointments.

so many disapointed customers..
i know many dont agree with this one , but i think its either you "get it" or you dont.
just like draw..
i meen , since i can remember it was very very obvious to me what the 'bass' or 'high' does , whats the 'cue point' or just to realize the spectrum box and how to play with it.
not that im perfect , but probably getting faster better results then someone did that course and just dont 'got it'
i have a friend who did 2 years in israeli school and the only thing he learned for real is that drums has to be recorded with several mics. oh yeah and there are several types of mics. and noise gate , what about it , shouldnt it be always in SEND CHANNEL woo freakin hoo.. he got degree and nice printed paper to aprove (that he paid enough) and soon will be working as engineer lol!

here in india that certificate holds no use unless you can work on the machine ... im sure its the same everywhere ....
you cannot show up at a studio with a piece of paper n demand to start recording or mixing ...

many studios here in fact don't like SAE students lol
my assistant at the studio has done his SAE from London .. spent a lot of money ... A LOT ....all he does after 8months of working with us is mic'ing/bounces and backups

SAE works as a BASE but thats about it ... i think you need to go out get a job get working to learn much more which no course could teach you            Nocturnal Wizardz Recs

Imho, any kind of education after basic school is a kind of time-out, during which you do not have to spend you time for earning money, but can learn everything you are interested by yourself. If you are in a relevant surrounding, like SAE, if you study sound-engineering, you get some benefits, like people interested in the same as you, and the whole atmosphere I meen, you got nice conditions for studying by yourself, and shouldn't expect that the knowledge will be injected in your brain by teachers...           http://soundcloud.com/aedem
