schools are made for beginners!!

sae is famous worlwide and i suppose they are good!

but i would not spend so many euros to take theyr course better spend it for equipement and find a private teacher to learn the fundamentals

but if you have lots of euros in your pochet go for it but dont compromise in the 6month 1 year classes go for the full 3 year class so you will learn something!!

if you realy wanna gain some knowledge on sound engineering and music production, (this might seem a bit strange to most of you) but you should check IEK OMHROS. Believe me i know what i am talking about. I have seen both systems at work. SAE haz only a good shop-front (vitrina), but doez not fart one (den klanei mia).. they just cant teach..

wanna feed your eyez -> go to SAE
wanna feed your brain -> go to OMHROS          -----------------------------------------
it's ON !!

If you want to go to SAE to learn how to use Logic/Cubase...etc, you are wasting your money. You can learn that stuff on your own easily and there's manuals that come free with the software.
In my humble opinion and from my experience (I have a BSc in Audio Tech) unless you want to do lots of acoustics, analogue/digital electronics, digital signal processing or simply want to find an excuse to leave home (in case you would study abroad), its not really worth going to uni. There's loads of books and most importanly there's the internet. Save the cash for gear that is going to be yours for ever and teach your self, instead of spending the cash on Logic/Cubase, or basic recording techniques lessons and temporary access to a nice studio.
The sound engineering market is extremely competitive and saturated. Unless you know people, chances are you will not find a job (one that pays well at least)as a sound engineer holding an SAE degree.
And in live sound, experience, strong back and basic knowledge of stage safety are far more important than calculating the RT60 of a venue.

I am not assuming that you want software sequencing classes, but what would you like to learn berberious? What are your interests?
