Is the scene big in South Africa ? Any local artists ? |

It's quite big, most ppl in the bigger cities know about trance and some of the parties and Vortex's pull in close to 5000 ppl per party nowadays (Sometimes more, sometimes less), but it's mostly international artist and DJ's playing here. The local ones don't really get that much recognition, same with the DJ's. House is still much bigger here though.

yes house is bigger everywhere. And in Europe it's the mainstream. Especially in France and UK.
Switzerland is trance (not psytrance), Espana is Machina (the most awfull kind of techno ever...it's a kind of nithzonot but for techno), italia is club trance, germany is techno, begium & luxembourg & Netherland are gabber/hardcore.
But each country have a small local psy scene except Espana. |

Yes, house is much bigger here as well. Hard House is what a lot of people are into. That and really cheeshy funky house, like sugar daddy ???

I'm glad that there is a house scene and that it is so big... It keeps the posers, designer-label, "oooh-look-at-my-cool-outfit" type people away from the trance parties ;-) |
