How do YOU think a liveset is made then?
Im afraid this is the truth mate. One shall be happy if the artist bending a knob and something happens with the sound coming from the PA hehe

How are they not live? You want them to recreate the entire track on stage or something? They still had to set up the controls and triggers for the track, and they are still performing certain parts of it completely live.
I think you are just not understanding this because of some kind of language barrier.

Ok Glitchin live for me maby premaded banks in my virus ti with Midi premade notes in sequenser specialy for specific track in ableton and after playing from sequenser i will add some chords in live perform. Also i will split the zone of the octaves which will give me control of multiple banks on each octave, if i will feel that i have to chnge some parameters i will use some effect or sweeps in filters , also maby i will add some arps with gaters , and etc ...you know , i'am trying to say that
cloun shows many djs can do , but real live performance its not standing on premaded recorded track and maby sending air to the black hole , excuse me for that ... real live performance its when you working fucking hard for make it real feeling of new sounds and tricks in already known track , so glitchin would you like to give better lesson ?

i dont use ableton and i dont do live sets, but from what i have seen with ableton, you can do so much stuff on the fly, its an amazing program, with ableton you can play "live" prehaps you should look into it .
im no good at giving lessons, but this guy knows his stuff and tom cosm has loads of videos on his websight if you wana watch more.

Not all artist have the time to create a whole live set. They have jobs to pay the rent. They choose to make new tracks in stead of focus on the extended liveset. Maybe 10% of the dancefloor understands what you are doing. So it makes more sense to make higher quality music in my eyes than to put alot of effort in making something really live.

DJ Loopper... before trying to complain about the live set process, i sugest you try to make a track your self... and then ask to your self if you belive someone can create 1hour of music in real time...
your behaviour only shows ignorance, your tipicaly the badroom DJ guy trying to be a smart ass questioning about live sets because they had their spotlight and you dont... your whinning and your trying to get excuses for your lack of sucess...
its usual and your not the only one unfortunaly...
but guys like you shouldnt forget, that Protonica written their own music, they did their tracks... they are not some idiots playing in their bedroom with virtual DJ or traktor... they work music in their studio an their music is at this very precise time being listened by many people in the world
you should respect them more than you do...

There's lots of ways of playing live.
I am not going to comment on the Protonica clip, as I don't care to find out if they are faking it or not, even if it looks like it, I would give them the benefit of a doubt as I don't use Ableton to play live, so I am unfamiliar with it. You could simply assign a knob/fader to a volume parameter of a drone/FX/white noise/whatever channel and grab hold of it with both hands as if your life depended on it, through out the whole set. It would be "legit", even if it would be boring as hell.
One thing is for sure tho, it does not look so flashy when all your channels, FX units and synths are stored inside your laptop, instead of a 32 channel mixing desk, a rack with delay units, reverb units, modulation effects units a nord lead and an sh-101, placed away enough for you to run around on stage and look busy, even if there are a lot more options open for a live set, inside a little 13" laptop.
By the way, I know IM, Simon and Yahel, but who is DNA?

then you play as dj! seriously it s not cause of lack of time they don't make real live set it s just cause everyhting is more simple like this .
