Hello!
As a guy whose roots are in Russia, I am very sorry for Russians who like Trance.
The Russian Trance is simply not it.
It is still in the old days of Phunky House.
I gave a listen to something like 200 tracks that were made by Russian Producers, and I can see that they are know what they doing-The arrangment is great, but the sounds are old and cheesy.
Nothing New nor Interesting. |

well u can also give a listen to xtrance hits (94) and then say that it's not it..
Try check Fuzzion, Paranoic Sensations, In.R. Voice, PsyFactor,
Weird Walker and if you need more names just tell me
And of corse i suggest you listen Atom Smasher compilation which is almost only russian music and it's one of the best compilations that ever made..everyone says it

I agree with Alex - I havent listned to as much Ruski trance as he did but some of the stuff (Fuzzion, In R Voice, Shly) is as cutting edge as it gets.

I understand what Felix's talking about... There're no well-known professional producers in Russia.. but there are many RE-producers. If you listen to the X-Dream interview on "www.thump-radio.com", you'll hear Marcus say a very wise thing, that trance music today is more RE-produced, than produced... It is so especially in Russia... people are trying to do what's already been done, and they think: "ooh, it sounds just like GMS/X-Dream/whatever, so it is coooooL!!!" Aren't they wrong? Well, it's about time to have something NEW from Russia... so that people can say "Russian sound" with the meaning other than "non-professional" or "copied" sound.....

Look I'm no way "get down" on russian trance.
If a russian producer starts to make trance, he is usuallu do it seriously.
I listened to some producers, I can't think of a name right know, but I remember hearing the "Progress 1" album from Sant-Pitersubrg's best dj's.
I also listened to some russian trance at friend's studios.
Russian trance has many good points and I think that Russia can become a top-notch place for Trance-But only if the people will open their minds and will start listen to some Noise!

Check this out. For the moment Russia has no trance labels like the ones we all know. But wait for some time, things wiil change.We have for instance SunTrance which is more patry promoters, and they had some releases like mixes and stuff, even the first old Parasence stuff was released here on and Alex from Parasence told me that there was some misunderstanding between them, but it's not the point. I heard SunTrance released another Russian compilation some time ago, but it has more local character. Yes there are different people of different skill level here, and somethnig serious is finally growing out of it. The first really successfull thing from Russia long time ago were Radiotrance's tracks released abroad... Now we have other ppl here :)
The situation that music is reproduced is everywhere, unfortunately, yes, but, it is the way of popularity and progress and it's normal... Choose what you like form it. Generally, many ppl do nothing new, but they DON't think so and they will NEVER see it ok?
