I just got some descent active monitors (FINALLY), and has stumpled upon a small problem. I used to route my audiophile card from the outs to the ins on my soundblaster audigy card in order to get output to headphones and crappy speakers.
However, now I have no way of connecting my headphones anymore since the outs on my audiophile card are occupied by the monitors.
The question is, is it possible to have my soundblaster card active at the same time as my audiophile? I know that it is possible to do these things in Cubase, but I also want it to work outside my production enviroment (for listening to music, gaming and stuff).
At the moment I have routed the audiophiles' output to an in on my mixer and connected my monitors and headphones to that, but I do not find that to be a very durable solution since I need to remember to turn the input down while recording (or disbable the monitor output) which really really sucks!
So is there are way I can route sound within windows to more soundcards at the same time so that I can use my soundblaster for headphones and my audiophile for monitors?
/cheers

yeh
very easy..
Use your Audigy as your Default soundcard..so that all programs use tht.. and in Cubase set it up so that you use the Audiophile (Select the M-Audio Delta ASIO).. voilaaa..
It is Done...
[i use my onboard audio for some games and SKype etc.. and my audiophile to play some music and as well as experiment with fruity and cubase]
EDIT:
Im sorry i did not read your post correctly.. i do not know how to send outputs to 2 different soundcards.. ....good fudge comes on slow!!! |

Thx for the suggestions... Well, as I wrote, I have a mixer that I'm running things through already. But the problem is, that when I'm recording a have to turn the input channel down to avaoid getting a "feedback loop" (Audio from my soundcard goes to the mixer which is then sent back into the soundcard). I guess I'll meet the same problem with any mixer as long as I still need to send something from my soundcard into it...
Of course I could split the output from the soundcard into two and connect one stereochannel to the monitors and another to a amp for my headphones, but if it is possible, I would like to solve the problem without buying more gear
