This one's a bit old school, but how do I make those rubbery sounds? (Like the rubber nord in Elad's samples pack, alien project used to do this a lot, etc.)

My kicks and basses are getting better and better, I'm getting a better overall sound all the time, but my leads are in a rut.

I always make my music too melodic to my taste, not enough psychedelia going around.

anyways, how about that rubber?

But use a highpass filter with medium to high settings.
And modulate it with an Env with negative values.
Aditionaly you could run it thru a second (bandpass) filter with some modulation.

Are we talking about the good old pitch saw in high pass filter that everybody adn their dogs were using in the early 00's?

I call them "gum" sounds...cause when you are on elsid and these sounds come out of the PA, you bite so hard your own gums jump out of your mouth and stare back at you, telling you how naughty you've been. I've seen it happen my self.

How can I get a copy of this so called sample pack?
Shure would be nice to take a listen...
Elad I'm talking to you.;-)

Absynth 3 had a nice starter preset to get tweaking on for this kind of sound but I caint find it in the new vertion.
I caint remember the name but it was right next to the Duckverb or something like that, I remember it had duck in the name.           \\\"Invoking the inner dancing buddha with future frequencies from beyond\\\" ~GyPsy

this is the first track i heard that made thought about rubber when listening to the leads.

5:27 plays a very rubberish lead that i guess is made with previously mentioned techniques but instead of pitch shift modulation it is more like a legato / portamento what bends it.

I also remember:

Man that sound at 3:06... insane i tell u.

Sounds a lot like this:

Well... yeah we could have different concepts in mind ... anyway i believe most sounds that communicate the "rubber" idea have to do with pitch bending and high resonance on hp filters, because it squeels just like when you play with a balloon or like rubber soles shoes sound...

Other sounds that make me think of this are low octaved saws and fm stuff... that "styrofoam" sound... also alsked before in this forum.
