Is there a way to route a single channel to multiple BUS channels in Ableton? I have BUS channels set up to compress things like k/b, perc, synths and fxs and I was wanting to create a reverb channel to route some to in order to save cpu. Off the top of my head I don't think I can, but I'm not at home right now to test it, so I figured I would ask here . Thanks!           http://soundcloud.com/ascensionsound

For example, I have a lead channel routed to a BUS compressor right now. I want to create a single reverb BUS and route that lead channel to it as well (in the end I would be routing the single lead channel to 2 separate BUS channels). I would be doing the same thing for other channels that share the same reverb so I can avoid having to put individual reverbs on each channel, thus saving cpu.           http://soundcloud.com/ascensionsound

As well as the destination selector for the track you're routing, each audio track has a selector for its source; this means that many audio tracks can have the same track as their source.

I think, at least

As for the reverb thing, use an aux send, it's what they're for           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering

well yeah, now I get it.. of course u can, like colin said, thats what they are for..
look, just create one "return" with compressor and other with reverb, than simply on lead channel try bumping send A for compressor and B for reverb, its that easy..
Now if u wanna send another channel to reverb again just turn up send B..

However, can u explain why do u want to use compressor on aux effects? I wouldnt recommend it.. Or if u do be sure u turn wet on the compressor to full as well as on reverb or any other thing u use return channels           http://www.facebook.com/xrayzproductions

Very few hardware compressors have a wet control. And not all software compressors have them either. I have about 8 different software compressors and none have wet/dry mix.

Parallel compression or New york compression can be a good way to reduce the dynamics without killing the sound.

My favourite parallel effect is distortion

I made compressor BUS's just to catch some of the high peaks (I turned the attack and release all the way up) on each of those channel groups (k/b,perc,synths and fxs). Just something another producer suggested to me.           http://soundcloud.com/ascensionsound

d2, native compressor in live has dry/wet settings..

ascension, I never heard of such trick till now, thats why Im asking..
And I dont get that attack all the way up..
If u turn it all the way up it wil start to compress in 1 sec so I dont see how could u catch highs with it..           http://www.facebook.com/xrayzproductions

Oops, I meant to say short peaks, not high peaks.           http://soundcloud.com/ascensionsound
