Im in the same position as u orgytime. i have a small room that needs treatment badly. To not make my room claustrophobic small Im planning to make some mobile walls and setting them up like a reflexion filter:

with me twiddling knobs in the mic position.

The walls will be made like this:

just scroll down to where it says; Building the damn panels! (Duh!)

I also have a window behind my setup, so i will get some heavy ass curtains to take most of the reflections. For the corners I will eventually make some bass traps with hinges, so I can take them on and off saving me space when Im not using them. I will make these in the near future so if you are interested I can post how it sounds like when im done

Here is the guide that I used on my panels:

Studio picks here:

I also have wall to wall cheap foam to help more with sound proofing than room accoustics but I do get a nice high frq absorbtion. With the 4 accoustic panels, foam wall panels, and some creative corrner bass traps I get a pretty dead studio space.           \\\"Invoking the inner dancing buddha with future frequencies from beyond\\\" ~GyPsy

i m wondering something...i removed all early reflection panels to change their places cause i m gonna add new ones, i listened some music and some tracks i mixed recenlty to find out that acoustic treatment make everyhting sound more nice, like it s flatering the sound (with less resonance, more flat response but my room was a bit dead sounding) , none of the guys that listen to your music have room treated so in the end i find this room acoustic thingy maybe a bit hyped (or it have to be done by a professional ).maybe it works like the ns10, if you can make a mix sounding good in a bad room it will translate everywere (if you know well the room) cause in my experience it make me work more on the mix (or maybe it s my room that is too much dead ,will find out when adding the new panels)
