I wondering if anyone has experience with this baby on the stage as live performing, or studio use. Also interesting point is a mastering mode, hmmm ...to be honest i never liked all in one solutions, but please share your experience with us.

Also how is RE-201 Space Echo act to compare to standalone hardware peace or software version on the uad card?

Thank you!

Hi,
the MV8000 is my main Sequencer, I do anything in conjunction with a external Mixer in that box.
I have no experience with the UAD pace Echo.

The MV is targeted to guys who loves to resample and cut things into pieces.

Sampling is only one Button press away and after Sampling the Sample is direct accessable via the Pads or even as Patch.

I use MV 8000 aswell, but mostly for live sets...
so i don't use it for mastering..

Anyway this machine it's a piece of gold, and i am very satisfied with the results !           NEW ALBUM OUT SOON !!!

I think you can load 24 Samples aswell, but you dont need that high bitdepth to get a nice sound. The overallsound of teh MV os pretty Phat.

Well the thing is that I'm looking for the tool that will give me possibility to perform live and MV-8000 is a very good candidate, but it's Owner’s Manual did mentioned only about 44.1 kHz/16-bit files which is way not enough for me to work with, specially in mastering mode..pffff, sequencing and effects is a BIG plus, but i never will give up my old friend cubase

44.1/16 bit should be good enough for live, thats the same as a CD.           ~Airyck~

The MV sound engine sounds at 16 bit different as Cubase for sure, but its mixing on a dsp and with a higer resolution inside the box ...
...have u seen that Faton G6 ? that might be usefull to perform live as well!           http://facebook.com/ansolas

Your PC or Mac is much more "all-in-one" solution than this Roland =)           http://soundcloud.com/aedem

AKAI MPC5000, just came out and might be an alternative...

At least for me since I like the pattern based approach and the akai style handling much more...

But thats a matter of taste and I've been a mpc user for a long time..

The roland surly is some very nice piece of equipment... especially cool is the external screen feature... that is missing from akai..           Most of my music for you to download at:

right, that's why i want to get something more specific for performing live than normal laptop and not be afraid of the system fault and such..

AKAI MPC5000 is loox really tasty hahaha! Now I'm in the mission to try this machine too....uhhhhh, me exited.
But one thing that makes me a bit itchy, same is for mv-8000 and Fantom G, is possibility to operate only in 16bit linear....which is way not the max that we could get in present time with modern technologies. Also what about DAC they using, how low is the jitter? (this answers them reference manuals do NOT provide). I understand that this machines can be sounds "FAT", but what is really makes it fat, is probably higher output level with some compression on the top and plus how they call it "mastering section" with multiband compressor and eq, which is not acceptable if we talking here about double compression that kills natural dynamics of the previously mastered (already compressed) material in case we playing it "live". But in other hand we got plenty of the cool functions that can be very attractive to us
