I have cubas sx. I can record events from my groovebox in cubase but it doesn't work the other way. In other words my groovebox doesn't receive events from the computer. This is very frustratrating because it does work with my synth. So I think it is a small setting in my groovebox but what?? please someone help!! |

Hi! (joe!)
I have a similar problem with my mc-505. I guess Roland figured out that not a lot of people would actually use it, so they made crappy midi-possibilities... I can't sysex anything to my pc, tried every program around. Now I just use my pc as sequencer and my 505 just for the knobs (midi control) cause the sounds of roland suck even harder than the midi-possibilities (and don't give me the 'you have to tweak it'-crap cause even when you tweak the hell out of it, it still sucks). |

Thanks for confirming I'm not incompetent. But I find it hard to believe Roland is so unprofessional. |

Boom Boom !
I got both Mc 505 and Mc 307 and both of them work very good. I can sysex everything from them in cubase Sx and i can also control Cubase parameters with The Grooveboxes. So the problem might be on the settings. Midi setings from the Roland synths or from your pc. What kind of sound card do you use ? Check the midiports from your pc. Maybe they aren't well setted.
"bandarlog" if you can't sysex from your 505 with Cubase Sx, try Cakewalk 8.0. it warks very well. Than upload the sysex file into your Cubase program. I must work.
