Im looking for an owner or user of the JP8080 to give me some info about this synth.Generally,I want to see if it is worth buying as it is old.I have heard a lot of stuff from users about the 8000 model, but I dont know anyone that owns or has used this.
Any info will be appreciated..

I love mine. LOVE it.
It is a subtractive virtual analog synth with some FM options, good for many kinds of sounds.
It has a very "digital" sounding filter. Which is great for some stuff (dirty dirty ripping leads!) but might not be exactly what you're looking for. It's not so hot at Warm sounds. Though I got a pretty decent hammond organ out of it.
It's a step up from the JP 8000 because it has INPUTS that you can use to modulate other sound sources. Vocoding, filtering and a few tricks that I'm pretty sure you can't get anywhere else.
Any other questions? |

Personally, I would go for the JD990. I think that synth kind of got lost in the psytrance history mix because it came out right as VA took over, was expensive and people didn't want sample based stuff anymore. The filters are absolutely sick on that machine.
All it really means if a synth is old is that you can get it super cheap on ebay.
It has nothing to do with the sound quality,if anything the sound quality in general is better than modern synths. |

All depends.
What synthesizers you have ?
If you don´t have any synth yet is an easy synth to learn, but in my opinions if you don´t have any yet there are better options in my opinion.
