So, on my way to the desert party .. i saw some dead rabbits/hares on the road .. i really felt sad to see that ..

obviously driving slow is one thing but not really effective ..

so, here is what I did .. when driving if i spotted a rabbit on the road or near the edges, i will flick my lights .. 80% of the time, they ran away from the road into the bushes .. there were just these 2 sucidal rabbits who just ran in front of the car but they ran off the road eventually .. imo, they were just confused .. hehe ..

just wanted to share this with others who are interested in not running over creatures on the road ..

peace,

Hi Devic,

So glad the party was beautiful. I really look forward to meeting you in August here in Asheville. : )

I just moved to North Carolina a few months ago and have seen more 'roadkill' on the road than I could have ever imagined! Every time I leave my house, I see a deer or rabbit or oppossum, or a kitty...

I guess that living so deeply surrounded in nature makes it challenging for our furry creatures not to find themselves accidentally near the pavement...I mean, other than the roads, this gorgeous place is all trees and nature....

Thanks for sharing your solution. I drive slllloooowwwllly, especially at night. There have been a few times that this came in handy and I was going slow enough to actually stop and let the deer cross the road. I love deer!

Looking forward to dancing!

do not underestimate the kamikaze bunnies!!

i think it's some sort of mass ritual where they have to jump right in front of speeding cars - not sure what they are trying to prove, but one time while driving throught no-man's land in Nevada there were scores and scores of bunnies darting right in front of my truck, it was a full-on slalom at 90 mph.. I know it's extremely dangerous to do (as many people have wrecked whilst doing it), but I managed to avoid most of them, I think one or two got their tails pinched.

and sometimes they even want to race you, i've seen bunnies running along cars for miles.. trippy sight, I tell ya.

          ..it's just another party..

Yeah.. some bunnies are definitely trying to move onto the next life but others are entranced by the headlights... especially on those dirt roads where there is not much traffic- those lights must be very psychedelic Flick the lights and the spell is interrupted.
