hi
i wonder if there is anyone who can helpme dealing with the drivers update for rme soundcard. i bought one recently but now im looking for drivers for an update, but in RME web page i cant understand wich ones i need. i have a RME Hammerfall dsp multiface.
OOther question ( i think it have to go with drivers)i can't record movies samples as i usualy did usung wave lab or sound forge. i dont know why. should i plug an output to an input and then again in an output in order to receive the signal from the pc? i meen.. the only thing i can record with no prob its what comes in the inputs, so if i plug the main out in the input i'll receive the master signal, but i think this is not the proper way to do it right?
And myu third question!! hehe
its about the multi prog.
i cant run more than one prog at the same time! because they all want to use the same driver! So i think i need something related to multi prog right? is it a driver?
So im asking for anyone who knows Rme dsp multiface or any like this how do you work on this problems.
Hope you can be usefull..
Thanks in advance

http://www.rme-audio.com/download/fut_win_dsp.zip to update the hardware
and
http://www.rme-audio.com/download/w2dsp282.zip to update the software (Win XP/2000).
For movies, there is a plug in for soundforge that allows you to load mpeg files. I think it's called main concept or something.
This doesn't work with games, though. One way is use the rme for recording and the built in soundcard of your computer for playback. But, if it's a crappy soundcard the quality won't be that good. If anyone has a solution, I would be intrested to know.
Ha Ha. I've just noticed this. Go to rme site and on the left menu there is a link called competitors. Click on it. It says searching...... And then it says. Sorry, your search produced 0 results! That's funny.

If you're downloading fut_win_dsp.zip it's VERY IMPORTANT you read the text files that come with it before installing...           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering

Funny you should post this question today Fingax. I just posted the EXACT same question on another board before reading this!

I use the driver that UIU linked to but I'm not shure that I have updated the hardware.
It's really anoying that it uses the same driver for everything. Do you also have problems with winamp? I can't play 24bit files and the audio stops for a few ms when i switc to winamp while it's playing.
Other than that its a great card. Super nice converters.

yes AVS, exlent converters indeed.
about the winamp i have the same prob with windows media player because we dont have a multiprogram driver wich enebale us to open more than one program at same timeusing the same asio driver..
i didnt tryed these drivers yet, but as soon as i instal it i will tell you what was the result..

Ok. A guy I talked to recomended that I should connect the spdif out to the spdif in to record "internal" sounds. We could do that but thats a bit anoying if we get an outboard fx unit with digital I/O's. I think I'll just install my old audiophile card and use it only for that.
