I went from MOTU 2408 to RME Multiface and I noticed a distinct improvement in the high frequency content, through the same exact monitoring system. Plus MOTU is buggy on PC, and their tech support is understaffed (I used to get busy signals when I was trying to contact them, they didn't even have a phone queue.)
With the RME I sometimes get driver corruption when the machine sits idle for a few days, when I come back to it the sound will be distorted, but changing the buffer setting and changing it back fixes the problem and I consider it a mild nuisance, considering the quality of the sound. |
