hello!
i have a rme hammerfall multiface sound card
conected to a p4 laptop with a pcmcia card...
im thinking of changing my laptop to a desktop, but it will cost me extra to buy
a pci slot especialy for the multiface...
is there any way to put a pcmcia(pcmFBI:))
slot on a desktop computer...or...
what would be the cheapest way to do do that
change?

The PCI card still might be the better option as with the adaptor the system has to go through another layer of hardware to run the Multiface, and the risk of problems (although there probably won't be any! ) increases.

It may be more expensive but I personally wouldn't cut any corners with my audio, especially since the RME is such a good system in the first place.           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering

I will drink to that and advise all to write this one down and act accordingly.

At least from personal experience every time I tried to save some bucks on stuff around my PC hardware and studio generally, I would pay much more in the end, since the shit would betray me and prove that for cheap hardware u will eventually pay dearly.           A man with a "master plan" is often a woman
