ok guys heres my situation
im running windows xp premium edition
i installed all the latest drivers for this unit... now when i go to my daw the asio drivers everything works except for midi port which just doesn't show up... a funny thing worth stating is that when i updated the drivers on the fireface it also cleared the other midi ports installed from the other devices that i had already set upp and wer workin fine... is there a reason for this???
im usin live6 but i also tested it with reason 3.... any clues on why is this happening or how i can fix this????
peace and thanx to anyone who can shed so light in this ordeal and pain in the ass situation im bout to shoot the thing up... i thought rme fireface800 was a eazsy 2 set-up oh well Peace |

it could be a lot of things.
but there is one thing one should have for a good working firewire soundcard like motu or rme. You need to have a chipset Ti for firewire. if you're onboard firewire or pci card is not ti, its very likely that your system will respond badly. in your case the probably the midi issue.
Rme are 100% pc compatible.
you can get a belkin pci it has a ti chipset.

there is a thing with midi out being blocked if overall too many audio midi connections exist.
I have the problem with two firefaces. As soon I connect the second one 6 outputs from my 8channel midi interface disapear.
RME says that is a microsoft problem.
I can workaround it by only switching the fireface on AFTER windows is started up...
