rme ff400 problem

hi ppl
i am waiting my new monitor section to arive,
and i sold my old mackie big knob, so mean time my monitors are connected directly to the rme ff400 and im controling the vol. with the knob that on front panel of the ff400.
some times when i start my computer the knob stop to work, when i turn it i can see the number changing in the screen but on the rme mixer nothing changes and when i change the vol. with the rme mixer the number on the ff400 also change with the mixer vol. change.
than what i need to do is turn off the ff400 and turn it on again or restart the computer...
did some one had similar problem with the ff400?

hi bro, im not sure if this can help but: I have FF800(rme) connected the same way as u have yours now and on my one i use the analogs out 1&2 on the back, rout-it on the matrix, set the levels on the fireface mixer and ready to go.
