i hope i get you right, but if not, that what i suggest:
1. for the sound output, you choose RME in the "audio setup" of cubase.
2. for the midi input (guess you try to conect there a keyboard or synth) you choose your soundblaster or equivalent onboard, in the "midi setup" of cubase.
enjoy your new toy, and push it hard.

Considered buying a USB midi interface? It'll give you great midi performance and it relatively cheap. The Midiman usb midisport 2x2, for example, costs 100$ approx.

the only thing you need to do is:
get visual studio, get windows DDK (driver developers kit),
check the voltage specs of MIDI interfaces,
compare them with COM1 specs,
sit down on your butt, create a 9 pins->MIDI (5 pins) connector, and get rolling ....
but seriously, a better solution will be the one suggested by PsyTom...
maybe this will interest you:

or try midisport by MIDIman

My question was if anybody had made this conection (Midi Cable (15 pins)to the COM 1 port in the motherboard)!!
Bilbo, i really thought that the 9 pin cables where for monitoring accuracy purposes, but thanks for the tip ,we are here to learn

i don't know what you're talking about...
AFAIK midi devices uses 5 conductor cables
(in usual case only 3 are used.)
which 15 pin cable are you talking about ?

joystick .. it's a gameport, but for midi you don't use all the pins.
how do you think 5 pins MIDI cable connects to a synth ?

ok ok
the meanin is the 15-pin Gameport MIDI cable when the MIDI doesn't use all 15 pins.
that's it !

I mean I don't criticize at all the music it is about taste...
I always thinked dark music is about dark side of reality and people, as the light is the other half, ying and yang
And always taken all satanic or darkish names and images as a results of that, with a lots of irony and self joke, but in this release it looks like it is really dedicated to satan, I mean I'm not cristian at all, so I could give not a fuck on this release, but if they artist really intend what he's saying, it looks to me something more like satanistic and quite weird things( I like weird music ), and satanism is not always funny.... I mean I would not like to go to a party dedicated to satana....
I see the dark side like the exploration of the human being obscure side, not like a sect stuff like ....
But this is just my point of view, maybe the artist is totally jocking on this.
boom!

It looks to me as if it is someone who likes to incorporate satan into his music for some reason. I personally don't find it to appealing, but it's diversity, and if that is the way someone wants to express themselves, then go for it!!
