My good friend Asher Avital aka "chik Chak" or "papa pitufo" passed away Thursday Nov. 1st 2007 
He was the father of our Psychedelic Scene in Bolivia...
I remember when he started throwing these small parties, back around in 1997, and i remember he was this little ackward looking man, with strange movements, and he would throw these parties outside of the city.
He alwayz had his generator with him and this amazing deco and installations. The first parties there would be like 10 - 15 people and he would pass out "goodies" to everyone for free. I use to think to myself " Who is this strange little man, who moves very akwardly, with tons of energy, with this kick ass music and wonderful little goodies?"
He organized the earth dance's in bolivia every year since 2000.
Little by little the parties grew.... By 2002, Asher and I threw the best Festival in our little country's history with over 900 people, and had X Dream come play for us...Which was really a big deal for us at that time.
We came a long way from his first few parties, from 10 people and a little generator to almost 1000 people and a huge sound stage and X DREAM....
None of this would of ever come about if it wasn't for Asher...
He was very kind and sharing person. ALwayz made you feel at home, had an incredible energy to him, and alwayz use to be very "chik Chak" about everything.
He was and is the Father of Psychedelic Trance for Bolivia...
I am extremely sad to have heard this. Very very sad day

My sentiments dear Magox... I didn´t meet him but i know how is loose a good friend...
Be strong man... the life continues... and it always choose the time that we have to go....

this is his website, and under picture subtitled UNITY 16 is a picture of him, and picture subtitled Cusco 06 was our crew. He was in his 60's when he passed away, and he still had lots of energy. I was just dancing with him at Universo Parallelo earlier this year.
I admired his energy and positivity and i alwayz thought to myself, i hope i have his energy when i get to be his age.
How sudden life can be taken away....

be strong man i know how hard is to deal with situation like that
but cheer up mate life continues and try to carry only the good teaches thoughts and good moments you had together
he´s in a better place right now.. God knows what He´s doing

Asher has started a wave that has sent a Tsunami all the way to the westcoast of the United States. Those little 10 fifteen person parties not only got Bolivia pumping, but it has indirectly caused a rush of new energy in California as well. Blessings to Asher, his family, and to the rest of the world that will be thinking fond memories of his life and the lives he has touched. Of course, much love to you Magox in this time....
PS. 2 weeks left until Antix. We have Asher to thank for that one too! |
