fruity chorus works fine but the absolute best chorus i have found is the AUDIO DAMAGE FLUID.

All of audio damages stuff is pretty good especially their step filter. Which, I should have mentioned the step filter in the post asking about one.

I really enjoy the Oligarc Chorus (and the phaser for that matter).

Sometimes Waves Doubler can give really effective chorus type effects, as can Izotope Spectron, without getting into that really thick modulated delay based sound.
