Rewire FL8 record problem ?

Hi, I am re-wiring FL8 to cubase and trying to record the output but for some reason the standard record method (u know, hitting record) doesn't seem to creating an audio clip! There is definitely signal coming through the channel but record just doesn't do anything...

Has anyone else experienced re-wire issues with Fruity Loops 8 ?

Thanks!

On topic...
first the dumb and obvious question... although one never knows... have you made sure the inputs in Cubase are correct?
What else...
also when I leftclick the record button in FL8 it gives me choices what I would like to record,
1. Audio into the Edison audio editor
2. Audio into the playlist as an audio clip
3. Automation & score
4. Everything
5. Show me some more help

now it might be that it records the audio into Edison, or that the audio input and output (top and bottom right in the mixer) are not the ones you have in Cubase...
which would bring us back to the obvious question.

I have not tried FL8 as rewire client in Pro Tools yet. but I will tomorrow and let you know...

I hope I could help...

We are trying to record the sound of FL into Cubase. With FL7 it was only to press the record button in Cubase on the channel FL was loaded in, easy peasy.

Upavas, you are talking about recording in FL, wich is something else.

And dont get me wrong, my comment to Bandarlog was not at all meant in a offensive way, rather joking with his useless answer

I know Fraggle, I did not mean that in an offensive way either, I was rather referring to Bandarlogs comment, not yours and had a good laugh with your answer..., let me check this issue out with Pro Tools, given, it is not cubase... I'll check it out anyway...

Peace Bro!

well its working ok if u want to export from cubase whats played through a cubase midi channel assigned to a fl generator.

load a midi channel in cubase load flstudio rewire turn on the prefered flstudio rewire inputs from cubase make a midi part make ur sequence in cubase loop it and export with the option to imprt it agian in a cubase audio track! but im sure u know that allready!

recording the output i must admit i was looking on a how to but i could not find a proper routing for it in cubase or flstudio.... puzzler           http://www.landmark-recordings.com/

Hey chill out hombres , the man wanted to know if there were others with "FL rewire and record issues". By telling him in ableton there isn't any problem he can exclude some possibilities of reasons why it shouldn't work no? I didn't mean anything else, I'm a fruity user myself only I rewire to ableton. That's it...

I tried this in FL7 and it works fine. But I could also play a part from the sequencer in FL (not a single channel but several played at once), by just pressing the "song" intstead of "track" and recording the channel in cubase. But now (in FL8) none of it works, even tough cubase get audiosignal :S

And yeah Bavo, thanks for anything

well all i mention was tested in fl 8... i dont use v7 for some months now!

maybe its a bad version?

everything works fine in rewire mode exept recording in cubase something that was previously made in flstudio... and that actually isnt a real problem its just a limitation.

I had a problem rewiring Fl 8 to Ableton. I did everything I did with version 7 but no audio was coming through the mixing channel in Ableton. So what I did is I reinstalled Fruity Loops and it worked. I know that its recommended to close everything when you are installing FL with the try before buy version.
Good Luck.
