other then grm tools... how does one achieve a clean reverse delay before an audio or midi event?           "On the other hand, you have different fingers."

To do this trick I prefer bouncing the "delay event" and then reverse the file.... For a clean delay I like the Ultra Funk Delay. Or the Tape Delay from Logic.           LOADING...

export the event.

cut 1/64 small piece of the sample, duplicate it several times, and make an envelope of fade in.

i hope i understand your question correctly

Another method I've used:

Bounce your event to an audio file. Reverse it. Apply a delay to it (high feedback value), and bounce the result to another audio file. Now reverse *that* file and voila - reverse delay!

the common reverse delay is simply a series of taps with a reverse gain order. the first tap has less gain then the next one. the more taps you have the better the fx is. Surrender asked for something a bit more complex then this, a reverse delay that comes before the audio event himself.           "a new art came into my mind which only you can create, the Art of Noises, the logical consequence of your marvelous innovations." so it's a build effect?
like a standard reverse delay would be:
the audio event would be 100 %, then the delays would be 40% 60% 80% etc?

and what surrender asked for would be
40% 60% 80% 100%

is that a proper understanding?

Waveman had it, I think. It has to be an offline process as there's no way for your delay plugin to know what you're about to send it! lol

Reverse the sample. Add delay to taste and bounce down. Reverse the sample again.           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering

grm tools has this but it distorts the sound a bit too much.           "On the other hand, you have different fingers."
