weel reeverb is effective in all elementes in a track, some more some less...

in my opinion reeverb is a must in padīs, some leadīs, samples, percussion pattterns, and in what you think itīs sondīs better..!!
in the end is a matter of taste, but reeverb creats a sensation of space in the soundīs , so when it is used proper it goes weell with everything...

go test it

Or in 1 word - Living ! .

And not with everything but with alot of tunes .
Some times to much reverbs will make the track
be sound unclear and then u can get the inverse
, contrary of the thing y realy want to . Its open
the sound and some time (If u dont use it well -
All can be spread on and in And this is not what
we want to get in our work ... We should make
The differences and the exactly accurate being
distinction of what yes and what is no this is the
best thing . Hh - Very important , Perc .. As M.M

Sorry, i dont understand when you say 'it creates a sense of space.' Please can you explain coz surely it takes up a lot of room in the mix to create that specific feeling.

I mostly us Reverb on my pads, leads and percussion but am no expert. The whole track becomes so muddy. There is just no life in there!!!!!

Please can you explain how you guys use reverb or what its specific purpose is?

reverb can be effective with all sounds, listen carrefully a astrix track and see how he use his reverb. reverb must be in tune and a eq behind it is often needed.

I usually don't use reverb as an insert, unless im using it to get a specific effect.

Having a group channel, with reverb on it, and then sending my leads/pads to it in varying amounts seems to work fairly well for me. Sounds feel less disconnected because you are using the same reverb unit/preset.

Reverb does take up a lot of space if not done right. I also tend to EQ my sounds after applying reverb to keep my mix from getting muddy.

Reverb on percussion needs to be done very carefully. Some early reflections and maybe just a tiny bit of reverb (depending on the type of sound your after) would usually do the trick. Try any of the 'plate' presets in your reverb unit for percussive reverberation.

Dont be afraid to use the EQ from within your reverb unit, to brighten things up a bit.

1) make a group with a reverb unit on its insert
2) be sure to high pass your reverb unit's output (in most cases)
3) use your audio chan's send to send some of its signal to the group you created, start increasing the send amount
4) after you start to hear that you've put on reverb, reduce the send amount a little for a present but subtle reverb (of course, this only applies if you're in the 'classic' mixing scenario, if you need reverb as effect then of course you're free to do whatever you want!)

Thanks Guys! (Sorry Safa, a bit of hijacking of your thread. )

Might be a silly question but when you high pass the Reverb on the unit wont you lose all the warmth of the reverb effect with it?

might as well not use it no?           Rather than feeling that you're about to have the rug pulled from under you, let me teach you how to dance on a flying carpet

dont highpass too much then. do it the same way you manage to keep your leads sounding warm while highpassing them to stay clear of the bass.

light reverb on percs can be nice .. its a must imo for leads and pad .. maby a small automated reverb on bassline leading to a breakdown .. or as a crazy part .. it can work .. but never all the way thru
