find this good pdf about using reverbs.
http://www.kvglabs.com/PDF/ReverbQuickGuide.pdf

imo their is 2 distinctive ways of using reverb, one as a effect where you hear it and the other is using it in a very subtle way , here it s not really noticable but when you bypass you realize the huge benefits it can give to a full mix.

do you have any tips or setting that work great?

for doing a effect you can try to use a few in series on a send chanel(experiment with the settings to get them to complement each others and get a big depth), then add some effect like chorus (or/and what ever effects you want to use) on the send chanel after the verbs and eq/compress.

a more creative use of reverb is to sidechain it to make it pump (or gate) to something or to gain clarity by trigering the sidechain by the dry signal(work great on voice for example), it can help aslo on delay that sometimes mess up the mix .

loading a audio file that is not a reverb into a convolution reverb can give great result too for bizzare sounds (all depends the sound you load )
