the only thing I have on he master is roger nicols inspector XL blue and bxcontrol at the bottom of the chain, and when working in headphones I whak psp xeon for a volume boost. Thas it.
I ask this qestion just incase there wuz triks to be told

try just sending your synths parts to a group, with some gentle compression, and a really subtle reverb (either very small space or very small amount of 'wet'). ideally you want to trim either the input or the output of the reverb so it has no high or low frequencies, just a nice dense middle.
that way all the stuff which sounds good reverbed is reverbed, but all the stuff which sounds bad reverbed (kick / bass, hihats) is still 'nude'.
you can also send percussion to a group reverb - i do this sometimes. again the key is rolling off high frequencies so that you don't get a horrible washy buildup of hihat reflections... a little bit of reverb can bring all the percussion together.
as always, be subtle... dial it back until you can't hear it at all, then gradually increase by one or two ticks. for example, i have a synth group reverb which is only 3% wet.
