big no no for me, there is always some stuff I want completely dry. not saying it cannot work for your tune/vibe though, depends what you are aiming for.

What the hooligan said.

However I have used it a couple of times when mastering non-psy stuff that was produced very dry, it can help sometimes.           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering

Hell no, but how you disagree with an hooligan?

Reverb is my typical send fx.          http://soundcloud.com/alphadelphi

Hm what about a grp send for kick bass? remembering the mono set points.?

Yeh makes sence but surly this rule can be broken with carefulness.

trust your ears, if you like it then use it.maybe a small room wouldn t be very noticeable and could fatten the sound a bit, experiments, i use one like that sometimes on my beat maybe it would work on the full mix. some make full on bassline with reverb so whatever work..

when mastering psy and most eletronic music = never.

when mastering organic music such as jazz, rock, etc = sometimes.           https://www.facebook.com/BiijahRecords

kick ranges pretty high in frequency range, so it will be affected almost 100%
maybe when you apply your reverb on master, you must check only wet signal of the reverb, so you can hear if there's any kick in it.
anyway, for me it's not a good solution.
the other way you mentioned is to stream kick in a seperated channel, so it's not affected, but again, to my ears that would be too muddy on everything...a careful adding of reverb to every single channel is more controlable for sure...           new album out now:

Imho the best and most secure way is to use two ot three reverbs with different settings, on separate tracks, and route all other tracks into them using different amount of send. Using too many different reverbs kind of brakes the space of the track, makes it too unnatural.

Using reverb on master is a must for pure vocal or organ or almost any instrumental music, but is no way for electronic music, especially kick+bass based, except for special effects in brakes.

yeah done it few times in mastering and it can be worth the try
very mild , if you on the ozone its easy to check if it sounds better/worse
special notice to the clearity of bass parts and general dry/wet feeling.. but it defintly brings out 'same studio' mix for all sounds wich isnt bad          www.sattelbattle.com
