i think is quiet bether using reverb in each audio track /instrument u get more use in the cpu but... u can define exactly the amount of reveberation in the sample .. and in the overall track ... or u can separate like for ex ... all fx .. for one buss .. leads forouther buss .. and sinth for outher buss .. and each bus u can put the about of the reverb u whant ...
but i prefer the first way .. its much bether :=) and u put the reverb just only were u need

Sounds like a good approach, but doesn't adding up many different reverbs result in a foggier sound then when you use just a few sends with varying amounts of 'send-signal' ? |

i think the trk or the space will get foggier , if u are going to reverb everything a bit extra !!!
different reverbs are always good , but u just need to know how much reverb a channel exactly rquires !!!
plur .. boom ! |

one more question here!
Doesn't using too many reverbs consume a lot of CPU? isn't reverb actually a CPU-intensive task, especially when there are 2 many reverbs floating around? |

Yes, Zooter, it is. You can add extra reverbs in a later stage of mixing ...
Question to Boodytrip : Could you explain the reason for timing reverb decays to tempo (it seems that somehow misses the whole point of using reverb - getting the sound out) ?

That's why you use it as a send effect.

I mostly use 2-4 Waves TrueVerbs, or IR1 as sends + sometimes some reverbs as bus effects if it is needed.
Sends is from long to short, so if i use 2 send reverbs one is long (depends on the track, atmosphere and bpm) and one is short.
When i use 3 then one is a mid long.

in a mixer you can choose how much of that channel will go to the reverb unit... so you "define exeactly the amount of reveberation" ...
if you got two aux's you should set one to short the other to long and... |
