Hello. It depends on the bassline style.
For rapid KBBB bassline I recommend tiny bit of reverb, sx3 Reverb B is my fav but anyone that handles small time ammounts is ok. Delay I would not recommend.
Other bassline styles can benefit from time based fx. Experiment using synch delay like 1/8 and 1/8d, useing reverb and reverse reverb on bass note can be fun too.
Make sure you filter (HP) the fx if needed, dealing with low frequencies that repeat overtime can lead to a cluttered mix. |

tjabba!skönt att se mer svenska användare!
havent tried any verb/delay on my bass
i find this more suited to techno..
could find something great though!
i like to apply bitcrushers, flangers, vocoders and chorus (all on specific freq bands).
lets hear some results tho! |

depending on the vibe of the bass some tiny bits of reverb can really go a long way. but long reverbs and delays i personally wouldnt use unless its a break or such. even then i would use a send fx for something smaller like that. but experiment with it never know you might come up with something different

I would recommend to use some fxs as sendeffect. And cut the lows after the effect. Don't use it as an insert.

Use what ever you want, on whatever you want if it sounds good. Obviously its got to fit with the project. Delay on bass is employed quite a bit in prog trance and even full on, just got to know how to control it |

Same as i would use it on other instruments. Each case to its own. The thing is not using this or that as alowed or not the thing is to know what you're doing and achieve the "best" result. That way you can come up with far more intellegent ideas to do it exactly the way you want it. It could be a chorus or phaser as long as there is a thought behind it and it blends well in the mix. I would avoid using reverb on the low frequencies unless i would give the sound pretty much all the room at the particular part. I would watch out of using too much reverb on instruments that play alot in the mix to avoid it getting to sound washed out ,"blurred", distant or overloaded and out of control. Delay is a little bit different but this will help with it too Good Luck

Delay yes, reverb no.Reverb as an effect can be ok...With a nice, lets say 1/8 pingpong delay, zero feedback and 20 % mix you can make your bassline more alive and moving(more drive). It doesn't work always but it can be effective...

Yea,one of my favorite tracks of Cosma have a ping pong delay on bassline (or he just manualy pans each note, who knows ).
Just make sure to use some multi band compression or multiband filter, and apply the effects to mid or highs or whatever, just not the lows.
Or just layer your bass and do the nasty stuff on the bassline which is high filtered up to,who knows,200Hz or some shit like that.Interference or any phase issues in low frequences sounds like a real mess.
Well, actually everybody pointed that out ,oops.
From all the things I lost, that sandwitch cost me most :)

At 0:21, we can hear the bassline with a nice ping pong delay on it, with panning maybe.
And it stays like that during all the song.
It works pretty well, imo.
