yesterday i noticed that when i play any sound with big reverb and want the sound to stop quick, it dont works if i take the volumefader of the midi-track (cubase), i have to take the Volume-automation of my Vst.

but that makes no sense, i would understand the opposite because if i shutdown the Vst, the reverb plugin sould work for itself.
but that dont hapenes.

anyone know why?           www.soundcloud.com/orgytime

Let me get this straight, you want the reverb tail to carry on after the dry sound has released? or you want the reverb tail to cut abruptly?

Im not sure what you mean at this point, my first thought could it have something to do with send being pre/post fader?

do you have the send channel as a post fader?          Demand recognition for the Armenian genocide 1915

i want it to stop the reverb with the dry sound abruptly, and cant use the automation of the midi-volumefader, i have to use the volume of the vst for this, what i cant understand...
(as reverb i take the cubase plug in, in the insert effects)

i dont understand why this dont works, because the miditrackfader should work like the mastervolume, but just for this miditrack, right?

Make the decay time as short as you like and in the reverb's volume editor screen, draw a curve that suits your taste.
As for the dry sound, have a full sustain and a ver fast release so that the dry sound will stop as soon as you release the note.

thx, but that isnt the problem, there are some ways to do it, but i want to understand why this happens and cant mute EVERYTHING with the volumuefader of the cubase mixer.           www.soundcloud.com/orgytime

if the reverb is an insert on the software instrument channel, it should mute as soon as you automate the mute button.

never touch the midi faders in Cubase/Nuendo orgytime and if its midi better dont touch even the volume fader, make your volumes from the synth and the plugins .. anyway i think its better not to use the faders in midi only in audio tracks

why not use a gated reverb for that sound btw?

Bounce out your MIDI, process it if with a reverb, cut the tail as you see fit.

hehe thx, but i know how to do it^^
better not touch the midi mixer fader, beacause
then you can easy take away volume or boost the whole track if needed...
just wondered about this appearing "bug".

cheers
