Reverb and delay is to use in everything?

Reverb is make things sounding like they are all in the same place in a room, arena, club...

and delay is a echo effect? ?

Pfft, here and there! Delay & reverb MAXED OUT on EVERYTHING!!!!! Leads, FX, percussion, bass, kick - ALL DELAY & REVERB for FULL SICKNESS and ABSOLUTE TRIPPINESS!

...
Just kidding. Cardinals is right, unless you want a muddy sloppy sounding track only where needed. If I want a really punchy tight lead,fx,etc I avoid reverb & delay            http://soundcloud.com/meat-battery/

i use lots of dealy and reverbs. i like them. but still you have to keep MAIN things dry, or almost dry not to sound really far away from the listener. also lots of delays and reverbs, especially with long tales, make mess. and i found out that when you play music in clubs you better have something playing in the middle and dry all the way.

The only thing that is completely dry in our tunes are the kick, bass and eventually hi-hats.
I always have a couple of tight rooms/plates where I send sounds that I want to sound dry...just a hint.
Generally I mix in delays and reverbs a couple of clicks below of what I think is enough, as mastering does tend to bring them up slightly.

Peace out.

in my experience reverb on mainleads is not needed if you got a big delay in it.           www.soundcloud.com/orgytime

Its all about taste. I always have reverbs on mainleads, even the ones in big delays. Placing in rooms that complement their sound is one of my favorite things to do and listen to when in the studio.

Its a figure of speech...clicks as in the next value the send parameter will click on to after I pull it down with the mouse.

Peace out.

How many different reverb units do u use per song. All on sends?
Also, do you ppl use delays on a sends or as a track effect?
