I've been trying to figure out a way to stop (choke) a sample that is playing when the same sample is hit again (another note on event). I thought this was called retrigger, but that only seems to effect the lfo from what I've gathered.

Anyone have any ideas?           Keep The Faith,

I think the only way is setting your sample duration, maybe the release/sustain...

Afaik, u can't do it only with shorter midi notes.           LOADING...

you could misuse buffer override for such things. it lets you retrigger notes in whatever fashion you want. it's not exactly as feature rich as a tracker but anyway.

put the cell on a voic group and set the max voices parameter to 1.

talolard is right, this is usually called polyphony (= 1 or in this case 'monophony' ), as you might be looking to do this in other synths as well!

shame is, that polyphony limit is applied to the whole instance of batt., not just one cell (f.e. kick), correct me if i`m wrong, but i didn`t find out how to apply polyphony limit or retrigger to each cell individually. for me it`s better to use audio for kicks, to not overlap during rolls.

This brings along something else I found in the manual in another area, in that you can set the on note events of one group to stop any samples playing from another group. Might be able to use this as a kludge to get the monophonic property I'm looking for without having to set all of Battery that way.

Thanks for the input everyone.           Keep The Faith,
