why waiting for next september for a festival and dont just gather and go to plant some trees
now or in 2 weeks ? the festival is a nice idea
but not necesery we can easily gather 100 - 200 ppl and go to a mountain to plant trees at any time  we could do that 2 - 3 even 4 times / year if we really care for the nature and not just a festival... also i feel sorry about the dead and the ppl that lost their homes of fire... but it doesent make any sense waiting for the fire to wipe oute before making plans on what to do, i would leave tomorow if a team was to go anyware at greece... |

This sounds right. But it needs to be organised, and planned. I'm definitely supporting the idea, and I think I can help, in terms of media coverage (through television), playing music and helping with sound installation. For free ofcourse. We can throw ideas and offerings here, or start messaging each other. But this should "stick" with the free thing, so it can be truly a sincere effort. Meaning that there should be no ticket price, and be open for everybody. People can buy the trees on their own and come to plant them, as for the sound installation costs maybe a sponsor could be found, or an organisation like Greenpeace or something. Artists for such an occasion, should volunteer in my opinion.

nature must reborn from its ashes first before we plant any trees until next September we will know in which places we can plant new trees.
i like ur passion for the effort but some things we must let to mama nature.
also money should be gathered and all this need to be organized properly.
@other_reality
im the first to wish everything should be free but in a money spinning world its not that easy.
if foreign artist come to greece they need at least their expenses not a payment but flight tickets cost money.
we have in mind that the ticket price will include a small amount for the trees and rest for general expenses.
we have also thought that its not going just to be a festival but many parties all the season and the final event will be the festival.
until now we are in the process of gathering info and making an official web page.
if all goes well in the next month we will start to gather peoples offerings for help and assigning them some particular task's.
its not an easy thing an effort like this we all know the greek monsters that wait in every corner.
first move is to make this public and known through the media. if that fails all the project will fail cos greece is ruled by the media if we have their support than we are ok.
what i would like to see for now is the big greek promoters that still havent show their support to step up and show it. this is a non profit effort we can all work together for something nice that will unite us for the first time and do some good for the damaged greek earth.
we are working on the fundamentals for now soon we will have more info of how we can make this true.
