ok so i'm sharing a 512 KBPS wireless conx with flatmates...

BUT, it seems every 2-3 days, the connection just loses its' strength and I have 2 reset the router 2 get back 2 on my downloads..v annoying...!

is this really common? is it supposed 2 happen that frequently??

can i do anything to stop this????

If you mean radio strength...it can happen when using wrong power supply.
If you mean connectivity, than it can happen if the router has limited NAT table for example.

Other than that need to get your exact model + exact problem description.

siemens gigaset se568 - dsl gateway...

well it's mostly connectivity...as i leave my downloads on, only 2 come back later like maybe a day and see , net disconnected

also , sometimes the wireless light on laptop is off durin such scenes

after which, if i try searchin for wireless networks, it does not show my Wireless device,,and even if it does -my connection (1) - it says properties not configured with device...

only solution i have rite now is resetting...

so,
any help...

well, try debug it. Like when you have wireless problem, connect your laptop with cable to the router and see if it keeps working (internet and such), go to management interface and see if there is anything in the logs. Try also find and upgrade firmware.

I am not familiar with siemens wireless so can't tell you for sure where is the problem. Also try working with router without any p2p downloads. May be it fills its NAT table and router goes crazy (that you can check by direct cable connection)
