I've been having some difficulties with bouncing my midi tracks..(basslines for instance) to audio for further processin, tweaking & also to save cpu power.. I can do it in Ableton live 7 in seconds.. but not in cubase 4.Any tips or help for a beginner would be greatly appreciated, Thank you!! Love & Light

You can do it in less than 7 seconds in Cubase as well if you set up a shortcut for it.

I've assigned "Ctrl + E" to it. Anyway, select the parts that you want to bounce & hit "P" this will automatically set the markers.

Now go to file --> export --> audio mixdown

You can go to key commands & set up a shortcut for this so you don't have to go through all these steps again.

Also in Cubase 4, if you have your tracks running to a Group Channel, you can send that group channel to an Audio track, and just press record with the Audio track armed. It will record it right into the track.           ~Airyck~

guys could you tell me at what db & db rms the kick should have after bouncing? I assume it should have some headroom for later final mix etc. And.. do you bounce pure ,without effects or compressor on the bass drum channel, and make it later or before. I hope it is ok to ask here, since im lookin for thes news for long time. The search function does not like me somehow.I dont get the topic I want to my question.I have to know this somehow so I try .Peace and Light

kick an bass anywhere between -5db to -15db should introduce nice solid mix.

i assigned "E" as hotkey for bounce mixdown and using "S" for solo the channel before bounce , as well "P" (while data should export is selected) for looping the part i wanna bounce
